@@devinlsheets_alphasound what started as a joke could be a very real and profitable business. Have you heard of vibroacoustic chairs? Now there's vibroacoustic rooms :)
@@davidmumbert4255 I'm sure you could if it's clean with low distortion and with enough amplitude. Lowest frequency I've heard was around 11Hz. Can literally count the cycles. I'm not so sure about under 10Hz and how long you'll be able to hear it. Don't have that much output to test much below that. I got lucky with room gain for 11Hz+ helping out. Some argue you don't hear that low you just feel the pressure. But if I plug my ears and can no longer detect the tones, that is, in essence, hearing.
Mine was bigger. Sort of. I used a sewer pipe, 2.4m high, 40cm wide. Kind of unwieldy, bothersome. Now I used a much shorter one, 1.2m high and 25 wide on the inside but much tighter sound because it is a very thick ceramic pipe, sounds more like a concrete box, equally as heavy, bit on wheels.
I’m from Canada. I’m a dealer for Powersoft products and the distributor says they can’t sell me the driver. They want me to buy their amp and processing. They also won’t let me buy more unless I put their driver into an approved box design. That looks like your own custom horn. The cost of buying the driver with amp and processing forces me to consider making my own driver which I am capable of doing. I used to service SDL5 Servo Drive subs. Let me know if that is your own box design and if you are using their amp. The box design shown looks very interesting.
I would love to get 4 of those... I saw a vid from RATSOUND, Dave hes claim 1 to have the spl of 2 dual 18s and the bass was more punchy, great for the kick drum. whats the price of all components.
did you use that thing even once out on a Job? if so...im for sure going to build one as well..but im pretty sure you wont ever have it out is that right?
I have plans of building what I Named The Gross. It's 12, 12 in woofers in two six element cabinets latched together, so they'll fit through door. (Bass guitar). Not the lowest frequencies but...
What is this for ? How does sub 30Hz bass affect the experience of music ? Is this a useable thing or does it only milk power from amps in order to produce infrasound ?
@@devinlsheets_alphasound No, but there's a reason why. I have a left ear hearing deficiency compared to my right ear. So... I am developing some neat little amplified speakers with an AD DSP which is "tuned" for proper compensation. The drivers are full range, phase coherent and the amplifier has hybrid voltage and current drive for really low THD and "damping". It's about a 5x5 cube. They are about 3 feet from my ears on a desktop, but if I lean in so the distance is ~12", the binaural recordings you have sound great, particularly the one in the street and beauty shop. However, if buying those earplugs will encourage you to make some more recordings, I'll gladly buy them today! P.S. the best headphones I have found over the years are the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32. They're now down to $159 on Amazon (bought the first pair for over $450 years ago).
@ALPHA SOUND is it possible to contact you? We want to build some 18” subwoofers with exponential port too, we already have our custom project and just wanna know how to bend the wood properly . Let us know!
The cone is really, really stiff. It is made out of hard plastic. Even when the motor isn't plugged into an amp, it is almost impossible to move the cone by hand.
See what you could be doing all you Twitter people if you got off that useless time wasting crap!!!! Build, create, contribute.....INNOVATE in the real world.
Yes serious window bracing needed, not just to keep it together, but to keep it harmonically coherent. All that cabinet flexing is no different than an ill tuned drum, with various over and under tones as reflexive reactions to cabinet displacement volume being constantly changing. At that huge cubic footage, millimeters of flex in key places create significant changes in displacement.
