This is wrong way to do it. You had no backing on the fabric, the grommets will tear the fabric.

Thank you for your feedback. This was a quick DIY that didn’t require any actual reinforcement. My fabric never tore and the shirt lasted a while.

Why not sew up the sides instead

Thank you for your comment. I don’t have this top anymore, but from what I can remember, the seam allowance was not there for me to sew it up. I think sewing it up would make it a little tighter. So I figured it would be a nice idea and it was trending around this time. But thank you for your perspective! I thank you for watching!
