Great information! Is it possible to bevel the edge of an existing formica countertop? New countertops are not in the budget right now, but our countertop has faded significantly in front of a window and looks awful. I planned to faux paint them to look like granite or marble, but in an effort to keep the sealer from chipping from the edges I figured a rounded or beveled edge might keep that from happening. Any suggestions?
Could you do a small mock up on how to create a raised edge/no drip counter top? I can't find anything on what creates this front bump under the laminate and feel it's a lot nicer than the squared edge countertops. Thanks
When you route material I was told to go in a counter clockwise direction for outside edges and clockwise for inside edges. Is there a reason you go in the opposite direction for the laminate?
Topher Dabrowski u are right. sometimes when I shoot video, I go in the best direction for the camera. with laminate it does not really make too much of a difference
My counter tops are laminate with a metal trim. I figure I could trim with laminate, like you did in the video vs redoing the metal trim. The particle board around the sink needs replacing. Are there any different tricks I should know for using particle board vs. MDF? Thanks for the video and any further help/tips you can share.
