I’ve been using a Trogotronic m15 for a couple years now. It’s a great system. I am in the process of building a 12u 104hp and a 12u 84hp case right now. Very cool video. Loved it.

I ordered my first eurorack modules and case last week. Got my case today, still waiting on the modules. I got the 104hp palette. Thanks for inspiring me to dive into the modular world. Great video as usual

custom cases are one of the best parts about modular. I like to bring my rig to a buddy's place to jam and recently found an old camera case on ebay by a company called thermodyne for $50. they used to make cases for those really big film cameras which is great because they're thick, hard, shock resistant plastic. needed a heat gun to get the glue used to hold the foam in place out of it. the lid will be housing 3u by 126hp and the base will house 3u by 104hp - that way i have room to throw in some extras like pedals, 0-coast, beatstep and a sherman filterbank. edge to edge they could hold 3u by 140hp. powering it with 4x meanwell RT-65b PSU's each getting their own synthrotek noise filtering bus board. all in all I've spent around $550 on the case, power and various parts. Congrats on the big dirty thirty! here's a good smoothie recipe for your new blender: 1 banana, 1cup of blueberries, 1/2 cup of milk, 2 big dollops of greek yogurt, spoonful of sugar, splash of vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon. p.s. that case is sexy AF

I built my own significantly smaller case for an upgrade from a HEK. I know the shoddy maker blames his tools but even with a miter saw I couldnt manage to get nice plumb joints. It's functional but looks like garbage. I opted to get some cases laser cut using open source SVT files from Nonlinear Circuits. Another thing is if you want to save some money, there are a few options for tool libraries/maker spaces in the TC area. A few regular libraries loan out tools as well because libraries are dope like that! Your case turned out terrific!

I just finished building a 168hp 13u case with a trogotronic m15 20A 8 board power supply. Your case is a lot prettier but I think my total cost was $824 and I have some extra wood and metal ties I can return for a few extra bucks back. Also going to try and sell my mantis case. I have about 4.2A of modules and even after a few hours I dont feel the case getting hot, even with a metasonix tube. Trogotronic recommended that you only use about half of the amps the power supply is rated for. So the m15 20A supply is 10A on +12 and 10A on -12 which means they recommended only using 5A on +12v for the 20A supply and it should easily run without getting too hot and last a really long time... I will probably run around 6A when the case is totally full of modules though.... another nice thing about this power supply is that if you need to you can buy more power bricks and upgrade to 30A or 40A without having to totally buy a new system/case.

I built 2 custom cases based on a thread in muff's by JLRice using those mixer flight cases. I went with the Doepfer PSU2 power supply. Required some DIY electrical skills to hookup the switch and the DC TipTop bus... but hey... like you found out... you save a lot of money doing DIY.
