Love the look. One small tip, if you want to make the seams between the aluminium profile seamless, use the smaller end piece of the diffuser at the start, that way the diffuser 'links' the aluminum strips together preventing separation.

I watched a few of his videos now these are by far the most helpful videos I have ever watched on how to reuse my RGB that I've used for other people projects that don't have the logic board and power supply now I can safely assure myself that I can reuse those RGBIC lights now! You projects never disappoint, how you included the LED lights into your wifes idea, kudos lol, hope it passed her longterm approval. As some else pointed out too, you can use multiple strips on the same ESP32 and last time I read, some people run up to four, all on seperate data pins BUT there maybe a limitation of pixels to about 200 or so on each. Even having two strips on one board will save you a few pounds/dollars which all count, well especially for me lol.

She is brave and talented to paint without covering on the floor! LOL I would have a white carpet after that.

So I Googled some pictures and it seemed easy enough. Lol. Famous last words for any construction project. But you did a great job. Thanks for the inspiration.

That looks fantastic! Now I have another project idea and still not enough time to do them all haha. One addition I'd have made is to remove the window trim and cut a channel in the back to run the wires through for a cleaner look.

Very nice result! Do try to add forked cable shoes to the end of the wires that go to the power unit! This way they are more secure in place and you can join two wires together for 1 good connection!

Okay, once again awesome!! But the electrician in me wants to give a few constructive ideas for future, For the wiring needed for the upper channel I was thinking you could have fished the wire through the wall (I use in wall speaker wire). Or if you have a router you could grove a couple of the verticals boards just deep enough and wide enough to sneak the wires needed to the upper tape lights. I’m actually working on an under and over kitchen cabinet lighting job utilizing WLED, two controllers, and lots of fishing of wiring.

Very nice work! You just gave me some great ideas. Also, try to convince your wife that you need a small hand router. Then you can just route out a channel in the wood, and run the wires in that and won't need any additional cover pieces.

Great project! In the future you should try out the multi output support in WLED. You can control both of those strips (both individually or as one single string) from a single ESP8266 using two data output pins.

Yo Chris, I really enjoy your stuff. Your creativity is excellent. A trick for you, try pushing your caulk line instead of pulling. After you practice you have more bead control, often not needing the "finger finish" method

Please use some ferrules or cable lugs when working with screw type connectors. Over time these will have a better connection because they will keep the strands in place instead of pushing them outwards and loosening the screw pressure. On all spring loaded terminals you should NOT use ferrules as they will keep the optimal pressure and have a better connection without one. Please point this out in your Videos because many take this as a guide and they should know how to do it safely. Other than that this build looks awesome. I think I will have a few projects in the future although I will use a 12V variant due to less voltage drop over bigger distances.

Chris, you're amazing. I've been watching all your videos for the last few days and have started ordering supplies for my own LED projects. I'd like to have a dedicated, preferably wireless, on/off switch for them and was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to accomplish this.

For the dap and caulking products, push the product with the tip instead of pulling and it'll come out perfectly smooth on its own.

You could also consider bringing the power up from the baseboard to fill in the longer section of the top rail. Then you could avoid trimming around the window.

Very clean install! Looks great! Do you have any vids that show where/how you mount your PSU and controller? Assuming they are getting put into some type of enclosure like a CableGuard or something similar and then hidden away somewhere?

when you do the track and lens, you should stager the lens, so it goes across where the 2 bits of track come together, this will help alot is making it seamless and straight as it'll bridge the 2 in line almost perfect where there is a seam.

Nice 👍🏼. One thing you could’ve done is to have identical strips for the lower part and the top one and hide the LEDs that run across the window in the window from so you can’t see their light and and then run an extra wires to the last part. This will give you seamless and identical effects on both strips. Either way it looks good.
