Ever have any issues when using the livewell since the scupper holes are open with no plugs for the intake and the out take? Do you get a lot of water flowing in when you are not moving. If so, ever thought about making a make shift rubber scupper with a large enough hole in it for the tubing? Looks awesome!

Do you have that battery box ventilated? You could have a serious problem one day if not. Otherwise, love the system!

Hey man. I have the same exact live well, I think I messed up and got a 1100 gph bilge pump so my battery dies super fast! Do you have a parts list for that box and the two batteries? How long do you batteries last running it constantly?
@ralphwaterhouse860
@ralphwaterhouse860 11 месяцев назад
Why do you have 2 6volt batteries? I get that the 12volt was driving too much water, but then you have pump connected to 2 6volt.... Or, does that just give you more hours. If so, how many hours would 1 battery last?

Are you having any problems priming the pump? Great video.

How many gallons of water can you get in that tank? I'm guessing if it's 40#s and the weight of water is 8.34/Gallon 4.8 Gallons? I've always made mine out of Igloo cubes to be able to haul more bait for longer distances. Thanks

Love this setup and would like to duplicate it. Question does your release go right through the scupper hole? It's hard to see. You also don't have to use a primer ball to get the water flowing?
@seriousfishingtv955
@seriousfishingtv955 7 лет назад
+Kris Puglisi I have the drain that comes out on the opposite side of the intake. And I have a 90° connector on there and a hose and wrap it around and put it out the other scupper hole. Sometimes I just forget that hose and let it drain right into the kayak and it just drains out the scuppers by itself. I also use a long piece of hose inside of the Live well and suck prime. I know it sounds funny but I did not want a primer ball and it works fantastic. Thanks for watching anymore questions let me know.

Does the Tsunami prime itself? I don't see a primer bulb like on the other DIY tanks

Hey I'm looking to do the same setup on my kayak. Could you do a step by step process video? Or send a link to the directions as to how you went about putting it together. Thank you.

Did you orient the live well in this direction to allow space for you H-Crate?
@seriousfishingtv955
@seriousfishingtv955 7 лет назад
yes I did but if I am not using the H-crate I still keep it the same way as it is very easy to get into. I have put it from front to back and it does work great also, but I prefer it this way.

Similar videos show a check valve below the pump... No need from your perspective?

I'm wondering if by having the intake line below the output what happens should the power to the pump go off or if you turn it off will the pump reverse siphon and drain all the water out leaving your bait high and dry? Or is there a one way check valve to prevent that?
@seriousfishingtv955
@seriousfishingtv955 7 лет назад
no it actually pushes water into the tank. I designed after the hobie pickup, the faster you go the more water flows in. you can actually prime the pump this way. thanks for watching.

How did you get12 volts down too 6 volts?
@michaelcrocker7813
@michaelcrocker7813 3 года назад
The batteries are 6Vdc and he wired them in parallel, so just running 6Vdc to the Tsunami pump that has a 12Vdc (brush) rated motor in the pump. 6Vdc to the pump makes it run slower.

How do you prime the pump?
@seriousfishingtv955
@seriousfishingtv955 5 лет назад
I cut an angled piece of a 90° and stuck it in the pipe and to prime it all I had to do is just move forward at a steady rate and kick on the pump and it’s self primed.

+RedAR I mainly fish Shimano stradics. I have four 2500 on three 7 1/2 foot medium heavy fast action Redbones thefourth is a 7 foot medium heavy fast action Redbone. I have one 3000 stradic on a 7 1/2 foot medium heavy fast action Redbone. I have one 4000 Strating CI4+ on a St. Croix Mojo inshore 7 1/2 foot medium heavy fast action. That is mainly what I use for my spinning I have a lot more but that's my main tackle in for my bait caster I have all Abu Garcia I have a Revo Toro NaCl 60 that is a paired on a 7 1/2 foot medium heavy. And I have some cheap abu Garcia combos for freshwater and they can be use for saltwater they're called BlueMAX they're only available at Academy sports. I don't have one anywhere near me I buy them on sale and have them shipped when they have reduced shipping I have two of them. I also have a black max on a redbone. That is the main rods I use I have a lot more. A lot of customs. I have some Loomis. But the redbone and St. Croix are my main rods I love fishing. On my customs they are 8 foot rods and I use Abu Garcia 6500 C3 on those rods. I use them for larger snook,Tarpon and shark. Thanks for watching please let me know if you have any other questions.
