If you have a small garden, patio, balcony or stoop, a hanging wood picture frame chock full of gorgeous living succulents is a simple way to add personality and style to your home or apartment. There are so many wonderful online tutorials to show you how, but after making several over the years myself, I realized there is a much simpler way to make a succulent picture frame. No special tools necessary.
Instead of making a frame from scratch or adapting an old picture frame with an added wood support base, just buy a wood artist panel that is
1 1/2-3 inches deep. Cover the back with a coco fiber liner, fill with soil and top off with some sphagnum moss. Instead of poky hardware cloth, finish the frame with plastic wire mesh. Attach with staples and a staple gun.
Finally, add your succulents of choice. Let the succulent frame rest on a table in half sun and half shade for a few weeks until the plants have rooted in. Water once a week. Hang your succulent frame and enjoy.

It’s a beautiful frame! It’s small enough that I feel I can brave making it! Lol. I agree, hardware cloth is not pleasant to work with. Thank you for an alternative. The space you are creating is very peaceful & calming. I can visualize someone sitting down with a sigh of peaceful contentment. Update on my son: he is getting so much better that he is reorganizing the house while my daughter-in-law is at work! He still can’t return to work so he says he is embracing the whole “Mr Mom” role. My daughter-in-law is a good sport. She just rolls her eyes & laughs. 😂 His last surgery is either late Oct or mid Nov.

Hi Linda! What amazing news about your son’s road back to health. I am sure you are feeling like you can exhale a little bit. Since you have been so good with your orchids, this kind of frame will be a cinch. Have a wonderful week.

❤ I loved both succulent wall arts. I mean go big or go home. Just kidding I’m not good with succulents so I don’t invest in them 😂. The smaller one is more practical than the larger one. Thank you 😊 enjoy your evening.

Hi Friend! Thanks so much for watching. Adding this little living frame makes the patio area feel like a separate room which I like. I’m glad I figured out how to use simple materials to make the frame. Couldn’t wait to share with all of you. Have a super week. It’s starting to feel like fall!

@@NutshellLiving I'm sure they will! That was a great idea. How's the table with the tree coming along? That's so chic!

The guava tree is just living its best life. It has put on a lot of growth, and there’s lots of fruit buds waiting for their turn.

Great tutorial on what worked and what didn’t. Thank you. Looks beautiful! I like the smaller size AND, it leaves space for other art!

Thank you, Angela! I don’t have the best back so lifting the bigger frame off the wall for watering and maintenance each week became a chore instead of a joy. I’m glad I made the pivot. Hope to see you for the next episode. Are you already getting ready for Halloween? Enjoy your week.

I will always be back to watch your videos!! I look forward to them! I’m not much of a decorator for Halloween or fall, even though there are so many cute ideas. How about you? Wishing you a great week as well. 🤗

@@angelaa.53 thanks, Angela. I used to be really into all of the holidays. I sort of lost my mojo but wondering if you guys would enjoy a Halloween episode.

I would like to see a Halloween episode. You have such unique and original ideas. But I understand other things take priority. 😊
