I have many requests on how to modify Proxxon for low RPM therefore, I made this short video and also updated my own Controller.

I don't get it. Too much hassle for stuff already easily available and cheap You can buy premade DC speed controllers for like 8 bucks and AC ones for 20.

@@zorbakaput8537 Some people don't like the process of building things themselves, it's sometimes more expensive than already made and it takes a lot of time as well, see... like modelers do.

looks great will need to add this to my set up. One suggest is to add strain relief to the power cord by tying a knot on the inside of the box where power cord enters.

Hello Maestro. I have been following you on RU-vid for years. Thanks to you, I learned a lot of new things. You have made many products such as PE production, 3D printing, Low RPM Controller, Silicone Mold, Handmade Riveting Wheel, Scratch Build, Homemade AirBrush, Handmade Compressed Air Compressor. But you have no video on Decal printing. But not an ordinary print on plain decal paper. Not laser / inkjet printing, but a decal printing with a white paint solution. I've been thinking about it for a while, but I couldn't find a simple (cheap) way for white dye. There is no Ghost White Toner where I am :) I am sure you have a solution for this too. You guys are great.

I've been using a sewing machine foot controller to do the same thing. That looks great too, and smaller.

Ignobel prize winner. Never hide hot components like transistors on radiators in closed case without ventilation holes. Never thin down plastic with hand milling without basing onto axis like coordinate table. Never use chained speed controllers to avoid torque loss. BTW Proxxon power cords plug into IDE HDD connector so you don't need to spoil extension cord just for socket. All you need for Micromot is 12V/1A power supply (anyone will do, just remove capacitor on output) and foot pedal (safer on output). Working with foot you get as minimal impulse as needed. Melting plastic is due to dull tools not high speed.

Priced one up from Amazon UK just now - for the extension, box and circuit board it already comes to £30, so not as cheap as in your neck of the woods by any stretch, but worth it in any case. I have two battery operated ones in addition to my Proxxon (which I only bought after watching your videos) , but they are not much good, though recommended by a professional model builder.

I've got a cordless Dremel and the speed controller built into that goes down to very slow. I haven't got the exact number to hand, but it's slow enough not to melt plastic, which is all that reaklly matters.

I've used a foot control for my dremel unit. I'm not particular to proxxon because they make expensive things out of cheap products. The small table saw unit is powered by a really subpar motor that heats up because of the poorly optimized plastic housing. I ditched that one and put a Singer sewing machine one, made out of metal. Also, cheap bearings. Not saying dremel's any better but at least they're a bit more realistic about the pricing (or used to be pre C19). I recommend swapping the proxxon motor with a higher quality one sourced from a proper certified vendor. Those come with data sheets and that's how you can also look up exactly what controller you can use to slow them down perfectly (without steps).

I have that Proxxon motor, and it has always seemed to me that it ought to have a FOOT control, like an automobile accelerator pedal (or like a sewing machine pedal control). The way it is designed, speed control is a two-handed operation, and turning it on and off is also two-handed, which I think is a safety issue. A foot control would fix all this: turn it on by pressing with the foot, speed it up by pressing more, and stop it by releasing the foot.

These cheap controlers generate interferences, not all of them but a metallic housing or shield can be useful.

this is excellent! I think I'll adapt it so I can use it with a foot control for speed. FYI, proxxon already produces what you built, the NG 2/E power supply. but I assume it's much cheaper to modify your existing power supply! nicely done!

If you don't have the ability to make one of these you could try something off the shelf - Variispeed 300W Plug In Variable Fan Speed Controller , for example .

I use a 60/E with the on tool speed controller with Proxxon NG 2/E variable speed controller, a large variation in speed available ....maybe I missed the memo .🧐

its easyer to by a 400 or 380 or 480 motor with reductions gears . ratio 1/10 to 1/100 it will be great .they speed decreases but torque incerases. all most the RCshops have them. i modified mine with a 380 motor with a 120 rear ratio. ps the motor numbers are sizes of the motors.mesure or better show yours at the local rc shop as aguide. Sorry o have one call black and decker. Had it for pver 20 years. It has setting knob for high speed and very low speed. And have manicures device for you finger nails. It has the same thing high and very low speed. The decker kind still good and the other i bought it from Amazon for 100 bought that 5 years ago. ...

To reduce the speed without losing what little torque a Moto-Tool has, I'd recommend building a Variable-Frequency-Drive. It's not that much more expensive.

Or you simply buy the Proxxon tool that has a RPM control wheel on it, like I did. Problem solved..

@@_Jester_ It's literally the same tool he uses in this clip, only with a wheel to control the RPM. They offer a variety, you just have to choose the right one for your needs.
