I use wooden basket bottoms that can also be used for crochet off of Amazon. It's much easier and they aren't very expensive.

What a great tutorial, thank you so much. I can see me making a stack of these for around my home. Do you think some fabric glue would help to reinforce the knots when you cut off?? This would be perfect in a bunch of other sizes too, (math isnt my strong suit) what amount of strands would i need to make the pattern fit to either increase or decrease the size of this please??
