omg I'm obsessed with the fact that your husband helped you with the locs. I would love to do this with my hair one day.

Interlocking the root is typically the way micros are started, so you were spot on with simply twisting then interlocking the root. They look amazing and I'm sure they're going to mature beautifully!

Braiding and banding is absolutely the way to go for at least the first 6 months until your locs settle and there is no danger of unraveling. It’s the SL method that is told to SL clients after their locs are installed. After washing make sure you go through and separate EACH loc to keep them from “marrying” each other at the roots as your hair dries. This will save you major headaches. No oils or conditioners the first 6 months because this impedes the locing process by continuously softening up your hair. This happens to people who can’t understand why their locs are too puffy and not formed properly. Kudos to your husband for learning that 4 point rotation!!👏👏👏👏

I'm impressed that it only took you 12 hours and 45 minutes give or take. I thought it would take you days and days it came out pretty cute

I am sooo excited for your new microlocs journey …your hair is beautiful…do not quit do not give up. I’m 21 months into my microlocs and it’s been a true blessing from the Lord. Having our husbands support is an added bonus… I have taught my husband a lot about hair during this time….but with lots of patience you will see the beautiful transformation throughout the months and years. Congratulations 🎉 ❤❤❤

Definitely supposed to interlock the roots at least before the first wash. Good call. Kendra Kenshay and I think Keke J made that mistake, and it makes the first retie more difficult than it should be. Don't have microlocs because I keep cutting my hair, and I'm also trying to get my scalp together because the last 2 times I started, my scalp was flaking everywhere, even when I washed my hair. I think it's because I don't drink enough water. Long comment, but when my sides grow out from my haircut, I intend on doing them for hopefully, the final time and stick with it. Also, love the size after you redid them❤

I started my install with 187 locs and then split them in half about 2 weeks later and I'm in love with the results! Best decision ever. Your locs look great!

Thank you so much for the interlocking tutorial! The arrows really helped me to understand what people men by a 4 point rotation. I think your hair looks amazing and is tempting me to make the leap.

Your hair is gorgeous! I have a very similar texture/density. Having had locs before I can reassure you that your hair is going to flourish so beautifully!! Instantly subscribed!! Great instinct to split them now & combine only if needed later. For shampoo, a lot of YT loc girlies use the blue Suave clarifying bottle. I used to use Trader Joe's Tea Tree in between salon visits.
