I love that you support your patterns with these pattern hack videos. I'd love some tutorials on some Rosery-ed basics, like cute versions of t-shirts and tank tops from knit fabric, if you can, or a turtleneck 2.0.
I literally bought this same fabric and got an idea to make a midi skirt with a slit on it and came looking for a tutorial on youtube, I clearly didn't remember I watched this video a year ago haha
I have just moved house so all my sewing supplies are packed away right now but the Hannah wrap skit is next on my list! Definitely going to give this skirt a try too. Thank you so much Janelle for sharing these hacks/alterations of your patterns - it makes them such a versatile purchase and also a learning experience to see how you adjust the patterns to create different designs x
I used to cut around the notches when cutting out my fabric which I always found a bit awkward but quite some time ago I started just cutting a small slit into the seam allowance where the notch was marked instead which I found a lot easier x
Amazing as always Janelle. I wish I had seen this a few weeks ago when I was trying to put an invisible zipper in. Got there in the end but with much confusion haha!
I started on this skirt today and I don’t know what happened but it started to turn out waay too small for me so I added another 4inch little panel to one side 😅 I don’t know why it ended up so small
I just watched this video...when cutting the skirt from the dart to make the slit, seam allowance should have been added to that newly made seam. Maybe I missed something, but I didn’t see an addition of seam allowance. It was just cut, and therefore 1 1/4 inches was lost in the width across the front of the skirt. That may have been the cause of it being too small. (One of the causes, anyway.)
Hiii! 😊 What fabric did you use? Can I use poly Cotten? Can you make a video on how to measure yourself for the patter of the skirt? Is there a way to sew an overlock stitch with a normal sewing machine (mine is Janome 4400 hobby craft) Thanks 🥰😊🤗
this is so pretty janelle!!! true story i was actually at spotlight the other day and saw this fabric and went 'huh i'm pretty sure i saw that in a rosery apparel video' now i wanna go get it and make this gorgeous skirt!!
That is a wonderful skirt and I especially LOVE the fabric. I know it is winter in Australia but wondering if you can pair the skirt with tights and boots. Might be cute and warm enough
I wish your patterns included plus sizes as well. I love your content and your style, however I am not able to purchase your patterns due to sizing. I’d love to support smaller companies and businesses, hope to be able to in the future! ♥️
Thanks for the feedback. I’m currently talking to someone who will potentially be able to help me extend my size range (I don’t have enough experience with plus size pattern making personally, and I want to make sure it’s done right!). It might be a while off, but definitely something I’m working towards 🧡
Stunning Janelle. ..love the colour too...thank you for sharing this amazing video. ..your tutorials are always soo easy to follow...look forward to the next one....remain blessed xxx
Great idea and pretty result. 😊 I may have missed something, but it looked like seam allowance wasn’t added to the newly created seam that created the slit. I would add seam allowance so 1 1/4 inches isn’t lost in the width across the skirt front. Otherwise, very nice video!
What a beautiful skirt! I really want to try this. Do you have any advice on how I can make it with a little more compression around my love handle areas? Or what fabric material I should use to conceal a little more? Thank you!
No sorry, with an elastic waistband it won’t be able to go on over your hips. For an easy waistband skirt follow this tutorial: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ma7HLPjbvAU.html&si=NBeUdzmFvJQ0uzMb
Hi, I have just started sewing when challenging myself during our recent short lockdown to make masks with my mums old machine. I ended getting so into it and my perfectionist me ended up making a few different designs to find the right one! Now my curiosity has landed me on your channel and I'm intrigued and tempted to try my hand at a skirt or two. Lockdown has just lifted today so I plan to go out and find some fabric. I have some questions before I do... is overlock necessary for this project as my machines does not have it? You mentioned a zip peddle? is that necessary? And also, are patterns one time use or can you reuse them once they've been cut up by sticking them back together? Thank you and looking forward to watching you some more in my spare time :)
Just bought this pattern and haven't sewn in years, I'm excited to get stuck in! Out of curiosity, do you not add seam allowance to anything? (Sorry if this has been answered below already!)
I'm really short, so could I place the two hannah pattern pieces less than 45cm apart? Or will this mess up the hang of the skirt? I'm 5'1 for reference x
I love your videos ! You explain everything so well !!! I have a weird question, but I’m obsessed with your lipstick 😅 can you tell me witch one is it ?
Does the pattern already include seam allowance? I didn’t see you add any space when cutting out, and I also didn’t hear you mention it. I would love to know before I start cutting my fabric :)
