Nice work! I imagine it would be easier to groove the boards for the mirrors and cut the slider groove before putting the frame together with the table saw.

When buying the mechanism, how do you figure out what length of the door you need? Do you go by size of the door width? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You are so smart.
It really just depends on how big you want the door to be. I chose to make a slimmer door because the glass I had was slim. When measuring for the height just make sure to leave about 1/2”-3/4” at the bottom for the door to glide easily and not touch the ground. I hope this helps.
If you are buying the door from a store, they usually come in a custom height. Lean that up against the wall to gauge how high you need to install the mechanism.
You can get Home Depot to cut your pieces for you and you may be able to get away with just attaching the mirror to the back without using a router. You will need the drill, I’m not sure if hardware store rent those. You can check the website of your local store
I didn’t have them installed but I also have baseboards that stick out. That extra piece of wood I attached to the wall before attaching the hardware helps to push it out a bit more. The wood is 3/4” thick and the hardware itself is pushed out a little as well. I’ve installed my baseboards now and the door is no where near my baseboards.
