Hi amazing project! , and what is the total cost obtained in production? And is there any instruction for modifying the slider? Thanks
@fuzzy4logic

Thank you! The total cost is I think at about 200€ - 300€. The Fusion360 file with all 3d printed parts is in my repo (see description) you can just adapt the design for your slider.

@fuzzy4logic
@fuzzy4logic 2 года назад
Hi, this project is more a reference point for your own moco rig. Therefore I don't have a complete parts list or assembly guide. But all the cad files are in my gitlab repository and I am pretty sure you can figure it out from there. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
@Ribanski

Fantastic project well done. Are you going to make changes to the head so that the camera turns in all axis in the center of gravity. Just wondering.
@fuzzy4logic
@fuzzy4logic 2 года назад
Hi, thanks! The camera is actually pretty balanced since the lens is the heaviest part of the camera. My focus though was to match the optical axis of the camera with the axis of the motion control rig. At the moment I am integrating the rig into blender and any offset of the optical axis would be really awkward to animate there.
@Crlarl
@Crlarl 3 года назад
Great build. I'm just wondering why you're using an EF-S lens on an R6.
@fuzzy4logic
@fuzzy4logic 3 года назад
Thanks! Ef-s lenses work great on the R6. The camera detects it as ef-s and crops the image by 1.6, the same as on a APS-C camera. In movie mode you don't lose any resolution and in still mode you still have about 12.5MP which is plenty for many applications. The only thing you lose is 100/120fps video, which is a bummer, but not as bad as not being able to use ef-s lenses. Autofocus, IBIS and all the other goodies still work great. If you're mainly focusing on shooting video with the R6 I'd highly recommend looking into ef-s lenses.

Woooowww, i was searching for a week now to find a diy slider... This one is soo good. Now I got a question. Can I, as somebody who just knows Arduino basics, build this slider??? And do I have to build exactly this slider, to get him working and if not, is it easy to configure the axis length in the Programm? The best would be if you opload a video about how to install all of your codes and getting the slider ready... You're doing a awesome job... Thank you
@fuzzy4logic
@fuzzy4logic 2 года назад
Hey, thank you for your interest in my project! Unfortunately this is not a beginner's project. You don't need to know just Arduino, but also Javascript, 3d printing, electronics, cad modeling and Linux. I'd suggest that you start with building your own, more simple machine and work your way up, iteration after iteration. I've planned this project for about 3 years before I built the first prototype made of wood. If you have any questions feel free to ask. You got this ;)

hi again, quick question: what sizes are the big bearings you use for the pan and tilt movements, and where did you get them? I'd also like to know which handheld controller you're using, it's very nice. I went on your gitlab page and couldn't find any information around the hardware and other devised you used, but maybe I'm just dumb! thanks!
@fuzzy4logic

The bearings are 140mm rockler bearings used for lazy susans, you can find them on amazon. I've built the handheld controller myself, you can find the video for that on my channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KkGwGZKnBbE.html&t
