Square drive screws work better for this project. Phillips head always slip. the door was perfectly square but the building was not. so I used a ratchet strap from the top left to the bottom right. Then used Five Short pieces of 2 x 4 to add support in the sides of the doorway to hold it square. #doityourselfproject #storagesolutions #construction #remodel

A Land o' Lakes Minnesotan, would say seal that bottom with 1/4" wire, so the chip monks cant' get in. It depends on what your storing in there. Or mice, they make burrows in your stored insulation, ACORNS everywhere. I took the glamor snap on cap off my TDI Jetta engine, and there was a mouse nest in there with insulation from my garage!! They are insidious! Thanks for another day Cowboy! -Save America.

Yes sir. Throughout my family and friends and number of us have had wiring destroyed on vehicles by field mice and rats. Also by raccoons hopping up past the frame to use the corner of the fender by behind the headlight for a toilet.

Cowboy Roy, I don't know why you would consider even using this fotten, infested structure as a fire wood shed .Aren't you just supplying those ants and termites with food abundance ? Is this to maintain their survivability after an NUKE ? I'd burn it after the steel is removed . Presser treaded wood while being extremely expensive, will provide a structure that no vermine could survive if they burrowed through. It's probably cheaper to use steel channel as the studs , plates, rafter material . But it all boils down to purpose application and cost . But I agree with your assessment about the ridiculous cost of the store bought sheds being over priced and flimsy.

I've had some of those flimsy sheds given to me. A couple goats managed to jump on top and crush the roof so it rained on the lawn mowers. I was originally just going to patch up to entrance to make it usable again. The sheet metal is nailed together well enough to the wood that it's pretty good so I thought what the heck patch it up and use it so that I can put other time into better things. If I actually used firewood every year I would have just stacked it outside and strong a tarp above it or something. I already learned not to cover wood with a tarp because in the summertime the stupid rats will open air conditioning through a good tarp. After building nests in the wood all winter. I have plenty of good wood that I purchased unused for a decent price. I don't have money. I've been short on work so I'm spending those days repairing things myself so I don't get stuck trying to come up with a lot of money to pay someone else. Same thing goes for trying to purchase portable storage buildings.

@@cowboyroyrogersnewsandclues OK, that explains things more clearly. Come out to Alberta. You'll have a job 1 week after you get settled in.
