Refillable propane cylinders are the way to go, especially for those who frequently use propane-powered devices.
Disposable 1-lb tanks are a hazardous nightmare for waste recovery facilities, landfills, and the environment. The cost of disposables continue to rise and therefore, many are refilling them. I live in whitehorse yukon a 1lb propane tank is 18.00$ cad shipping is very expensive I just bought 2 fuel kegs and a fill station for 135$ cad should pay for itself after 8-10 refills

As one that was licensed to fill propane tanks (DOT and ASME) I have used both Flame King and refilled the disposables. After having several disposables valves go bad on me (funny my dad has some that are 30 years old with good valves still) I switched to legal refillable Flame King. The Flame King liquid fill valve is very annoying and the allen key is easy to lose. I'm looking into the Mr Heater version now when they become available in my area.

Fuel Keg at TSC 19.99 ea. Flame King 2 for 33.00 at Amazon. Mr Heater fuel keg has to use fuel keg refill kit only per Mr. Heater. 34.99 at TSC. Used improperly any fuel source is dangerous. Harbor Freight has folding allen wrench set for 1.99.

Yes and they are pressure protected and the valves are the same quality as these over priced Commercial ones. Best to refill the throwaways by far.

*Question : does your Fuel Keg's wobble ? Because mine do !* I just bought three of these from Walmart and discovered upon returning home that the bottom ring that acts as the stand, which has all the DOT info stamped into it are less than stellar welding. Meaning they wobble standing up right, one egregiously so and the other two not near as much but still not flat... and some applications involve the base being the stand; like single burner attachments or even Mr.Heaters own Little Buddy 3,800 BTU heater... Assembly and Quality Control is garbage and Mr.Heater should be ashamed.

Watch when refilling some time the plastic sleeve and gasket will come out of the tank and steak on the steam of the refilling tool so it not a good design

You're right. Unfortunately all 1lb cylinders are designed this way, including the disposable ones. There are some reports regarding this exact issue. The guys refilling the Colman disposable tanks and the Flame King brand has been having the same issue for years. All you need to do is double-check it when you're disconnecting the cylinder. Actually, it's a good thing they can be removed because over time, that rubber gasket dries out and cracks. When it does happen, all you have to do is reach out to the companies and they will send you a few replacement gaskets and sleeves with an installation tool.
