It will follow her for all of the rest of her days. Even in this video, she picked up the glitter to add it to the pickle, and I exclaimed, " Kaitlyn, stop, it's glitter! No glitter for you!", lol. I love these two.

@@newtscamander2461 I know it wasn't meant serious, but nail biting is really not something good. In severe cases, the people even bite off their nail bed, leaving raw bleeding flesh. This intensifies in stress situations. Nail biting is often only the tip of the iceberg when a stressed, mentally ill, struggling person is doing it. It's like a valve. And if "biting your flesh raw" is what you see on the outside, you can only imagine what is inside.

I would love to see this redone with an actual good nail polish base, that base is cheaply made and that's what is causing the streaky sheer coats.

I was thinking the same thing. The kit is probably worth it only for the stirring/shaking thing. There should probably be a follow up trying out different quality/price clear nail polishes as the base. Or even using this to amp up precolored nail polish.

I had a glow in the dark green polish in high school, it definitely looked best OVER another polish… i painted small stars on my bedroom wall with it…

I love glow in the dark everything....If all my stuff glowed in the dark, I'd sleep without a night light. But the only things of mine that glow are my phone case, bandaloom bands (like two packs in blue and white) and a yo yo. If I had a super power, it would be the power to glow at will. Like, I'd be my own nightlight. Or maybe nightvision.

I think glow-in-the-dark powders need to be handled differently. I propose an experiment: a base coat on the nail of just about anything. Then, cover in dry, glow in the dark powder. Finally, a clear topcoat. I may have to search for some of my old powders and give this a try. (I used to hand paint ceiling stars, astronomically accurate)

I knew the everything polish would be pretty because taupe is one of my favorite shades for cosmetics and literally nothing else. It’s like a nude but with a little bit extra

Wouldn't more scoops of pigment have helped with the opacity? That duochrome was sooo nice! I totally expected that the alcohol dye would have made the nailpolish base totally gloopy or something - apparently my basic knowledge of chemistry has failed me 😅 Anyway, this was a fun video

Too many scoops might have overloaded the polish and prevented it from mixing properly. In this case, I think the polish just has too low a viscosity.

You might wanna take a look at the Dance Legend nail polishes, if you like duo chrome. The best and most gorgeous duo chrome in existence!

I think some of those could have actually worked really well if it wasn't such a cheap base 😅 Most if those cosmetic DIY sets are not always the best quality after all. Just a ticker polish to disperse the pigments etc better and turn them less streaky.

But a clear base/top coat from any store, buy eye shadow and you can use eye shadow to make nail polish. Comes out super pretty, although doesn't last too long if you don't shake it often. If you don't shake it every day / every other day it will eventually clump up and not work.

I feel like this really helps you appreciate people who formulate and make nail polish professionally. Evan and Katelyn are super competent people, and even they struggled with getting an opaque, non-streaky polish that had the effect they wanted. Also, the alcohol ink made a jelly polish! I actually love that trend.

I used to have a nail polish that was the exact same as the duochrome result, I would put it over a black base polish and it would be compared to beetle shells all the time by other people. It was a great look I think~

The alcohol ink made jelly polish, it’s a different finish that’s not meant to be opaque. It’s a great base for glitters and flakes. Very pretty!

If you guys want a "real" polish similar to the pickle one, China Glaze has one in their Jurassic World set! I think it's called Olive To Roar. :D Also I wouldn't recommend trying to build anything while your nails dry, even if it's as cool as KiwiCo stuff.

I wonder if you could mix the duochrome and glow in the dark to get rid of the "highlighter" colour and just have glow in the dark effect or the duochrome effect depending on lighting (or just using a different colour UV powder) Would probably turn goopy again though. The Duochrome might also just block the UV and prevent glow...

They all came out really well! I’d suggest putting a dark colour (black, deep red, navy blue…) underneath a nail polish with a cool effect or more sheerness (the pink alcohol one, glitters, chromes…) and if you’re feeling extra fancy you can sponge on the glitter polishes and such to make it more glittery :) when I figured that out it was magical

I find with even high end glow in the dark nail polishes they do goop up. I've been curious as to whether applying the powder to a slightly tacky base coat and going over with clear would be more affective. It's also the only polish I've never been able to salvage with a tiny bit of acetone

I’m a nail tech, so watching this is pretty fun! I’ve never mixed nail polishes exactly like this before haha. I think I’d use cosmetic glitters if it was me though lmao. I have definitely blending my own glitter polishes though, it can be really nice

There's this stuff called quick dry oil drops, it dries the nailpolish down to touch proof in a minute, longer to get smudge proof, cuts the drying time nicely. Also a clear top coat is designed to help the other layers dry down faster.

Omg what a blast from the past, I literally had a nail polish set as a kid that was one black polish and one white iridescent polish that would turn blue when painted over the black, exactly like the interference blue!

When working with the GITD powders, I use a white base and flock the damp polish. Finish with a clear on top.

a lot of the metallic ones reminds me of mid 90's Urban Decay nail polish. they used to have a lot of good colours with names that match the brand: Bruise, Mildew, Roach, Frostbite, Oil Slick, Asphyxia, UV-B, Smog, Radium, Uzi, Plague and Pallor, for example... Radium and Uzi were my go to back then, a nice metallic blue and a metallic darker gunmetal grey. and they have matching lipsticks. (great for going to RHPS shows)

I actually loved the everything powder!! It looked like a coppery one and that's my favorite metallic color! Also I think all of the mica and glitter ones would look better with a couple clear coats over them so they wouldn't look lumpy anymore

Sooo I use to actually make nail polish and glitter needs a thicker base .. the base provided is for mica pigments .. and I learned it’s best to mix the color powers with a little alcohol before mixing it into the base .. but this was super fun to watch and i looove your mixer!!! I need one of them
