The same deal applies to the Royal Star tour deluxe which uses the same motor and tranny. I own a 2007 RSTD. I know you were avoiding that whole "oil debate" but here goes, LOL! I run Rotella T6 15w40 and am very happy with it. As for the filter, I just hand tighten it and have not had any leaks. However, people's hand strength differs so some may need to use a filter wrench while others do not.
@@ziprun1 It is kind of hard to get these days with the supply shortages, but can be found. It is sold in Walmart. Every time you go to Walmart, just check and when you see it, buy a jug. Although I may switch it Delo if it becomes a problem. I think Delo meets the same properties.
@@ziprun1 You did it right by putting an oil for motorcycles in a motorcycle. I don't understand what everyone thinks is good about Shell Rotella, which is for trucks and diesel cars. Shell also offers special motorcycle oils (Shell Advance) for motorcycles. A motorcycle should also be filled with a special oil for motorcycles that meets the viscosity and approval standards in the operating instructions. Your own good feeling does not necessarily mean that it is also good for the motorcycle. The Yamaha technicians have written something in the operating instructions for a reason. And then you have to check locally or on the Internet to see what you get.
