Thanks for all you do..keep up the great work. I was slightly surprised you were pouring oil into your filter right about your cloth seat. Love the confidence.

Good work. Really do appreciate a guy who is mindful of being clean and tidy when it comes to workspaces. I wanted to add two things. The reason why the seal on the oil filters needs to be oiled up is so that it wont stick really hard to the mating surface and be a PITA to take off next time. The difference can be quite a few minutes of swearing and breaking out the biggest pipe wrench to get the suckers loose. So yeah, always oil them up and always hand tighten. Also I was going to suggest, maybe next time you're at a truck wash ask the staff if they've got any empty detergent jugs. Most often those are big 5-6 gallon plastic jugs which are chemical/oil resistant and are big enough to store big quantities of oil in 'em. It would make it easier on you to store and transport them. I don't know if you guys have this brand over there but we have "MA-FRA", which is one of the leading car/industrial cleaning products. I'd reckon most car washes will have similar jugs like that.

Hey AK I'm a sub from across the pond in England I'm actually a mechanic to do are oil filter changes we don't put holes in them we take them straight off but when doing an oil change we do it with the engine still warm so the oil flows out better but with the bolt we either replace the washer if it's a washer type but if it's just a bolt with a rubber seal we replace the whole bolt love the vids stay safe and keep trucking

Get you a quick drain plug and do away with the old oil plug and keep your jugs when you fill your oil all you have to do is open the quick drain plug and fill the jug close it when it is full keep doing that until oil is drained it will take four jugs to drain it and it's convenient because all you have to do is clean the jugs and turn them in that's how i do mine and remember changing your oil is cheap insurance don't worry about people saying you doing it to early keep up the good work

Morning AK. Always like watching you do some maintenance on you truck 👍🏻 It's really interesting and I love em 😄 Shouldn't you warm the oil first so it's got more viscosity and will drain more contaminate out 🤔 Love it don't get oil in my Dads pick up truck. So the first oil filter on on your cat walk then the second one on your Dads seat 🙈 I held my breath as you poured the oil lol 😂 Keep safe buddy until the next one 😁 I prefer the old introduction to you videos. Cheers Stevie 😎🇬🇧

Try Traveller 15W-40 oil from Tractor Supply. It has the same specs as Del Vac and Rotella, and is considerably less expensive. Traveller is made by Warren Distribution Co., a supplier of many private label brands of oil. I would recommend an oil analysis regularly, as well.

AK Good Video only two things bother me. 1 Putting oil in the filter while filter was on the seat. Dad will put a big Knot on you head if you spill some. 2. Using a cresent wrench on the drain plug could slip & round off the sides. Need a plug that you can use a boxed in wrench. just me thinking. It worked out ok.Stay Safe & Thanks for the video.
@TruckerAK
@TruckerAK 4 года назад
Yeah the seat thing I kinda asked myself like wtf but it was sandy and the wind was blowing sand that’s why I did it in the truck but it is what it is I didn’t spill any though so I’m very careful and yeah I need to buy the correct size wrench for it for sure

Shouldnt a big rig engine be hot before you drain the oil out? You said cold but I think most mechanics would disagree with you. On any other vehicle, the engine and oil should be hot.

@@sdudley11 yes I see. Wow I know that oil changes start at around $ 220.00. I'm a driver but not an owner opp but if I were a owner I would buy the good oil and filters and add the additives that extend the oil change intervals.
