That whole procedure should have been done on the side stand. You only stand a dyna up vertical for transmission and primary. Also he checked the oil for the hot level. Bike might be warm, but he added new oil which is not. Always check your oil on the side stand people.

I'm about to do my first oil change on my first Harley, a 2004 Dyna Low Rider. This video was all I needed to see before tackling the job. Obviously having a nice stable lift would make life much easier.

Brother, great camera work and great video ! If you can’t do an oil change on your own after watching this video, your screwed. This video was easy to understand, the step by step was easy to follow and like most people who post videos on RU-vid that hold the camera in one hand and just make a mess of the video, this guy had excellent, smooth camera angles. Thanks again brother. I will order my stuff through your site.

Thank you so much for this video. I bought the HD Service manual for my '03 FLHTCUI, but it just says remove the plug, and doesn't show you where it is. I like the way your video shows how to do it step by step.I will check your website out. Thanks

Great vid brother, glad to see some BamaBoys with some diy shit on here. I just changed all 3 on my 08 deluxe yesterday and drained my engine oil from oil tank drain tube, I noticed a smaller plug (bout a quarter inch or so) towards the middle of my engine. Is that to drain the additional oil that stays down in the engine ?

Brother how did you not make a mess taking off that filter.... Of all the 10 years I've been working on bikes I've never seen that who's better than you what was the trick please let us know by the way great video

- MrRIchBiker using junk filters that don’t have anti drain back seals in them. So they drain right back into the oiling system. So the “air pocket” he’s worried about happens every time he starts the bike.

what about the qt. of oil you left in the eng and didnt tell anyone about, without a scavenger system you leave 32oz of old oil in the eng?
@supermanotorious
@supermanotorious 9 лет назад
The manual doesn't say to. Here it is: 1. Ride till warm. 2. Remove dipstick. 3. Remove plug, allow to drain. 4. Remove filter. 5. Lube new filter gasket, hand tighten, do not use wrench. 6. Install plug. 7. Fill oil, 2.5 qts wet capacity refill, 3 qts dry capacity refill.

Why do manufacturers bother specifying torque wrench settings when so called experts never use them. Is it too technical for them?

just a waist of time

Because after you do the exact same job a couple thousand times you kinda get the feeling of how tight is just right. Head gaskets and rod and main cap bolts, are a different story. Those three bolts are critically important to get torqued evenly to spec. The rest of the bolts........eh just right is usually sufficient.
@NeuteredNympho
@NeuteredNympho 6 лет назад
Stephen Davies because they are experts they have done it many many times over and if someone needs to torque an oil filter or drain bolt with a torque wrench then they probably shouldn’t be working on it in the first place.
