Hi Matt, can you make a couch video for beginners without Master tools. Also, please slow down the pace. I will be going step by step with you. I’ve wanted to build furniture for forever. Can’t wait to try it out. New subscriber😊
What I’ve learnt making outside furniture is if you can avoid having end grain on the ground do it. If not cut your legs to size then cut 50mm/2” off the bottom, then reattach that piece with screws and wooden plugs and just some spots of glue, it’s now a perishable part. Most people don’t ever treat their wooden furniture until it’s too late 😂. If rot sets in you can remove that 50mm and replace it rather then the whole leg. I live in England so our weather is very wet. It rained for the past 4 days and for 24 hours solid one day, it’s raining for the next 7-10 days. Nice video mate, I especially like the chair you had to get heavy handed with to take apart. 😂👍🏻
Built that L shaped outdoor bench. Used your plans about 80%. Built it 12’x16’ to fit my space. It’s awesome. Everyone loves it. Wish I could post some pics.
Matt and Amy, Thanks again for the gift card you gave me yesterday. I took a picture of the table saw crosscut sled that I purchased with it. If I can ever figure out how to post it on one of the these comments You can see it setting on top of my table saw in my 10 foot by 12 foot wood shop.
Holy cow brother all your outdoor woodworking projects how long have even been working on this video I haven’t even watched it yet, but I’m excited too !
Matt, I love your furniture, and I'm thinking about using them to build furniture for my deck soon, but what I really want to know is how you build that pergola at 44:56 on your deck because it looks AWESOME!
Love the video and the projects! The only reason why I am a bit hesitant to buy the plans is the fact that I'm from Europe and I don't understand the imperial measuring system. But you have given me many great ideas for projects during spring!
I was at Lowe's the other day and noticed that the finished fence pickets (1x6) were cheaper than the construction grade 1x6s in the lumber area. For the seating on the outdoor benches I think they should just as well as the more expensive ones. Just have to square up the angled end and there you go. And honestly a lot of those fence pickets looked a lot better than the lumber did, they won't as full of knots and looked straighter.
I'd agree with you on most of what you're saying but I'd suggest you check the thickness of those pickets. The ones I've been seeing in the big box stores are only 5/8" (actually about 1/2" once sanded).
Hey Matt! Just wanted to say, I love your channel and I’ve watched tons of your videos. (Some repeatedly, like the end table with drawer build…though I still haven’t gotten around to building it! It’s coming up soon on my list though.) Anyway, just wanted to say, don’t be discouraged by all the people saying “more builds, less reviews.” Personally, I LOVE the build videos and will watch every single one you post, but I do understand the statistics and algorithms have proven to you what gets views at large. I typically watch those review videos too, but definitely enjoy the build videos. Hope to see some sprinkled in every so often, but will keep watching either way. You and Steve Ramsey were definitely my first RU-vid woodworking teachers and I so appreciate all you’ve put into your journey and mine! God Bless you and yours!
Just subscribed and shared I have been wanting to build a bench, maybe not L shape but great video looks fantastic. Hope to build and showcase on my channel when I do.
Cabots aqua deck or whatever it is haha as an Aussie that ad lives in my brain but seriously good stuff our weather is stupid dramatic up and down here in Victoria other states more up all Year but Cabots handles all of the drama American climates are usually pretty calm compared
I wanted to say it's a very interesting video, great analytics, I love the choices, I like the products being produced, the vision. I'm just curious to know how much effort how many hours, how much work to produce this. It's not a side hustle I don't think, it's a full time job but 42,000 and $64,000 well that's not even enough to pay my mortgage.
Hello again, I have seen a lot of your videos and I love them. I've just finished building an end table and I've seen you use stain on yours that really makes it look good. I wanted to know what stain do you use for it? I'm doing a white frame and legs but I would love to know what stain would be a good one to use. I'm looking for a darker brown-ish finish that you see on most tables built like that and I would prefer one that has both sealer and stain in it. Do you have a recommendation for what I might be looking for? Keep the videos coming, you are one of my favorite channels. I would appreciate any suggestions you might offer. Have a blessed day.💯😁
Hey Matt. When your spraying your outdoor furniture with Cabot Timber Oil do you wipe off excess after applying just like with interior stain or do you just spray a coat and leave it..Thank for all your content..
Ahh the good old days when you were a builder instead of just constantly reviewing things. Some of the reviews are cool but your channel was more useful when you actually built things.
Nobody watched the builds. And judging by the lackluster views on this, it’s still true. I focus 99% of my attention on what people actually watch. Those are my good ole days
@@731WoodworksI’m thinking this wasn’t a huge hit view wise because it’s a mash up of old videos people have already seen and it’s winter time..out door furniture isn’t on peoples mind at the moment. I know I miss the build videos, that’s why I originally subscribed years ago, loved watching the build videos, now it’s just tool reviews. I think if the video quality you have now was put into build videos, they would be loved. It would also be nice to see the tools reviewed actually used to build projects instead of just a bench top review. Just my opinion lol.
It seems your more dedicated fans prefer the build videos, but the algorithm prefers reviews, based on comments. Do you build stuff whether or not you record (the algo gave me this video so I have no clue about your background)? Because possibly do build videos that are less polished where it's more timelapse with VO describing the specifics, and keep your focus on the reviews for monetization. I dunno whether you have a patreon or not, or a twitch, but you could possibly livestream builds or put builds on patreon increasing the return on those videos so you can still appease fans but also still bringing in views and adsense money via reviews, then occasionally throw comps together and put them on YT to get people to go to your patreon/twitch. *Shrugs* just suggestions from a rando, feel free to disregard.
May I suggest that tool reviews are incorporated with something that you build using it. I loved your older videos but hardly ever watch the new unless you’re building something. I think the sales videos are useful when it’s a great sale but otherwise not interested unless it applies to a build. Maybe make it a separate channel even with links to it in build videos.
