The Best Way To Use Old Wood // The Perfect Wood Recycling Project #WoodworkingGuide ★Thank for watching! ★Please like, share, and subscribe our Channel here:
🤣🤣🤣 Dude you had me rolling when the bench leg joints were to tight for the stretchers one way, then you turned em around and it was perfect. Sign of a true craftsman
I watch channels like this to get a perspective for what woodworking can be. I don't care what others think. It gives me an idea of projects and methods.
I have recently retired and I'm now starting to get into some woodworking - which I have always wanted to do but had neither the time nor the space until now. I'm very inspired by your videos and I stop many times throughout each to study your technique and to just admire your work. Thank you!
My wife wanted that wood tile look for flooring in our home living room & hallway leading to the bedrooms.. Took alot blood sweat & beers 🍻 but we got it done after a few weeks..I layed it down like tile using a special floor adhesive with the recommended notched trowel. Used fine saw & sanding dust mixed with a shellac for grout & knot filler. Rented a floor sander to smooth it out then hit it with a couple coats of walnut stain followed by one coat of wax free shellac & finally finished it off with a couple coats of Bona Traffic HD commercial satin, it's always a hit with guests who see it for the 1st time. Even repeat visitors just zone out starring at all the wood grain & knot patterns..
@@TheBooze13 The milling process was no joke, laying it down was probably the most time consuming part I'm kinda OCD so the details is all I look at.. Not too many knots in a given area making sure the grain was random looking & measure the fill in cuts along walls.. Once I got to grouting and sanding it was smooth sailing..
This is the first wooden table that looks like brick work. Very well built design on this table & bench. Your cats seem to love it as well. Excellent job. 🐱 😺✅👍
WOW!! Just wow. Such an blessed young man to have this amazing talent!! I could watch him all day! Love his workshop and tools as well. What an artist!
I love this project, and I especially love the way you used recycled materials. I bet a project using different types of wood would make an interesting look - something like a wall with miscellaneous types of recycled wood. I love projects like this because they really get people thinking about things in completely different ways! Thanks so much for sharing your project!
I am no professional woodworker Connor but I definitely appreciate the beautiful work that they do! What incredible attention to detail and excellence! Thank you for making such a great video!
Personally there is never such thing as scrap wood as you can find a use for even sawdust when wood working but that’s neither here or there. Depending on the work it was originally sourced for you can have enough good lengths and conditions to be useful for a project like this but surplus to its original use.
Wow.... just blown away by this man's skill! The result is fantastic... perhaps for me I'd keep the bench separate to be more versatile in use, but still a work of art and great to watch it evolve.
When I worked @ Fitzpatric & Weller, they never wasted any thing. Just as my Elders taught me. I don't know how much they ever put back. But it was a Job!!! It used to cost me lose to $50 a weak for Gas. But Iwas just so proud to have a job !!!
That looks fantastic. The "butcher block" type pattern on the table and the "ribbed" pattern on the bench contrast nicely. Sorry, I don't know the jargon. I've watched a lot but have never had the chance to do any myself. I enjoyed the video and will definitely be watching more.
After watching the video advert i was still skeptical. But when i finally downloaded the plans ru-vid.comUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG i was very impressed. The whole plan was just as you said in the video. Thank you very much. I now have a large and valuable collection for my woodworks. This is great!
i love the model.. the technique.. and the finishing.. but i would love everything if the table and the bench were separated.. that would be more flexible to move here-and-there when sitting.. and when you need to load and move them.. it would be easier to set the space in the transportation.. and.. love the cat and the dog also.. 😍😁
@@thomasbingham2797 Gee Lad, I forgot for a moment that all floors and patios are perfectly flat. Have you ever had an irritating tipsy table or chair…or bench in a restaurant? Lol.
@@garyfairbrother5532 & Thomas Bingham • Now! Now! Lads! Enough of this nonsense to each other, there's good lads. Give each other a handshake . . Ooops! Give each other a _"Socially Distanced Elbow Tap"_ and say nice things to each other!
Yeah he's def very quick, but also savvy in his use of power tools. Doing this with handtools slows you down significantly, not to mention he didn't show the finishing process (sanding and sealing) I'd say he did this within an after noon
The first time I saved enough scraps to make something in this style, it felt so gratifying not to throw scrap lumber into the firepit. Now, I have something to cherish forever.
You can see he is systematic and masters efficiency in his approach. Tilting the blade is a huge time saver versus using a router for all those edges. Turned out amazing.
I really like this channel. I love to watch things being created and made. I've always amazed at the finished product. This one was nicely done and well filmed and concluded. Thanks, liked and subbed.
Wow you definitely had a plan and executed it flawlessly!!!! I have so much scrap wood I'm going to get creative and make something beautiful too, thanks for the inspiration 🤗👍
Definitely had a awesome plan but the execution was horrific!! Just look at the mortises being far to long (you can still them with cat playing), all the fitting are either slack or too tight (look when he turned the legs around cause they did fit, then they nearly fell over once swapped around),and he’d screwed long grain to cross grain with far too many screws. Absolutely no allowance for expansion. Piss poor joinery skills in my eyes. I think I could do better with a screwdriver and a rock!
I don't watch a video like this to grade his skills, asuch as I do to learn. This happened to be a great tutorial to learn from and inspire. I'm positive that he is skilled enough to build this flawlessly if that was his goal and he wasn't being pushed on time to fit the project fr beginning to end in a short video Just my 2 cents worth
When I saw the thumb nail, I thought you were going to use a router to do the edges of each of those wood bricks and I thought that sounded like a long nightmare. I love your use of the table saw for them! Much easier and safer. Keep up the good work!
I have almost enough wood for that project, only a FEW of the tools and ZERO talent and expertise to ever do that. BUT, it was a very interesting and enjoyable process to watch someone with all the components necessary to accomplish it. Thanks for sharing it; VERY, very nice!
What a clever idea especially the “bricks”. From one cat lover to another: Hope you’ve sealed the timber well. First thing I ever built was a large kitchen table. I just waxed the top as I wanted it to wear. Coming down the first morning obviously the cat was sleeping on the highest place. I shouted, she woke and peed in distress. Despite wiping it immediately there is still a stain reminding me of the cat that’s passed a long time ago.
Nice of you have a shop full of all the proper wood working tools and machines...looks a bit labor intensive... If you charged by the hour to build it a lot of folks couldn't afford it , but it is a very nice piece.
i feel your pain. i really feel it. home improvement had always gotten in my way. my shop sits idle like yours. so when will it be time to get in there if life keeps getting in the way. it’s like always waiting and thinking about it but can’t get there. i get angry, do you get angry? SO WHEN ?
Nice project if you happen to have a few hundred pieces of scrap wood and all the necessary tools you would need to complete said project. I like how RU-vid let's these little carpenters show off their skills for their former instructors they must be so proud.
