PS: Just a thought, I hope you don't mind. You have great pieces for the patio... I think if you push the BBQ back a foot or two, then put the smoker beside it, it will read as your grilling area. Then place the bistro set across from the sofa facing each other, it will make a great conversation area. Just a thought.
You aren't the only one who enjoys watching exterior mow + trim & all kinds of cleanup transformations.. That back area, out of view, would make glorious beds for all kinds of plants. When you move, you can water, then dig up, pot + carry your most loved perennials, evergreens, etc., to the new place!
I’m addicted to those grass cutting and cleaning up yards. I think they are relaxing to see the transformation. I thought I was weird too. Glad to hear other people watch them too.😊
Hi Allison, you've both done a lovely job of your garden. Can I also say check your information on the plants ie the hydrangeas you've planted aretoo close together they grow reasonably big and tall. I'd put them at the back of your borders with the wall behind as they will cover other plants. Google is a great friend when it comes to planting. Just follow the same principles you use in your lovely home, group things in odd numbers or in symmetry. Hope this helps x
My 14year old son loves doing the lawns i need to upload a video of him doing our backyard. he was 12 at the time and it looked like an adult had done it. He used to love watching videos of pressure washing and lawn mowing
You may already know this but always make sure you never throw stain rags away when they are wet. They can spontaneously combust! Lol leaving them to dry in the sun then throwing them away works
The transformation was beautiful and even for your first time ! And you mentioned that most of your viewers are a military family and you’re right I am a military wife ! We are about to get stationed in Yuma Arizona and this video just gave me a perfect idea for our new house . Thank you !!
It helps to mulch the soil in the garden boxes as well. Mulch keeps the soil moist and cool and keeps weeds down. Maybe try using a different shade, like natural cedar, for contrast. You can also add grass clippings to the boxes, which will decompose and enrich the soil. (I also got addicted to those "mowing makeover" vlogs. LOL! The ultimate before and after!)
I watched 1 random car detailing video , next thing you know I bought a extractor and all these car detailing cleaning supplies to clean my house rugs 😆...I had to have binge watched 70 videos on that subject ....I don't know how I ended up going down that rabbit hole .
Watching lawn maintenance videos, as well as car detailing videos are my jam. I could do that for hours. I could also watch woodworking videos for hours as well. 😅
Hi Allison - love your new garden space. Thanks muchly for sharing this; I remember asking for this. I hope my tips help. Plants need additional fertilizer and cow manure. The amount of these in garden soil only lasts about a month I think. The fertilizer is best in pellets as when you water, nutrients slowly in the ground. Seasol is a good energy booster. Ancor in the wooden frames so they will stay secure
Hi there! Your garden looks really beautiful. You both worked so hard on it. Just respectfully wanted to give you some advice? IAs someone who has many. Many hydrangeas, they’re going to get big. They get very tall and wide. I’d find a bigger space for them. Also, they are going to need a deeper root system then the box that is pretty shallow. Your garden looks beautiful, but I just wanted to offer that little tip so your hydrangeas will be happier. 💕😊
You did a great job on the planter boxes. Give yourself some credit. When you put the mulch down it was like putting an great frame on a picture. We always use black mulch after we refresh our gardens. It brings out the colors of our flowers and helps with moisture.
Great makeover, you give me some ideas on making over my patio ( rented house also) I also watch the lawn make overs they are oddly satisfying to watch 😂
Great transformation! I love Natalie Bennets channel too. I also get sucked into the lawn clean up videos 😁. The grill looks like new - for future we have a grill cover that was relatively inexpensive and keeps it from weathering over the years.
Awwww that looks so nice! Y’all did an excellent job 👍🏾 I’m so inspired now and going to try my hand at doing some raised beds ~ thanks for sharing! Peace and Blessings ~ Love and Light 🦋🌻🦋
I enjoy watching your vlogs. It helped me a lot even through you a lot experienced then me but you make it look so easy makes me believe I might can do it myself.
Lol girl I was wondering when the day you was going to do that the yard makeover hope I didn't offend you in that way love you love you videos always have a blessed and safe weekend❤🙏
Strawberries are runners, don’t be surprise if they end up taking over the whole bed. Cucumbers and zucchini will do better on a trellis so the bruit can grow away from the ground and reduce the chance of them being eating by ground bugs. Great video otherwise. Lastly when watering, water the ground not the leaves, as if they don’t dry well it can promote bacteria grow and kill the leaves.
Thank you for the tips! Good to know about strawberries! Although I don't think I'd be mad if they took over the whole planter as long as they produce fruit!
You might want to read labels on plants such as shade or sun requirements, size when fully grown, water requirements etc. For example: hydrangeas are usually a shade part sun bush and a daisy is full sun.
