It’s finally time to close up the DIY Pallet Shed. In this video, I repair the front wall, install the siding and doors. Definitely should have called in reinforcements but my struggle is your gain! Hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching! #budgetbuild #diy #palletprojects #maker #doityourself #makersgonnamake #homemade #homeimprovement

I'm looking at getting a shed and then turning it into a tiny house type deal, you did a great job on this and as I have a ton of pallets laid around figure this is the way to go, great job on the video, nice that you show the problems as well as the improvisations 👍👍👍

🤣The expansion foam is one of the best sealers that I use in my shed. You have to seal the cracks to keep the bees out (I'm highly allergic to them) Great build dude! You did a fantastic job on this project for not being a carpenter as carpentry is not easy. I started carpentry 33 years ago and I still am not "good" 🙄 I'm more of a Jack of all trade's kind of guy. The only things I don't like are electricity & plumbing👎🏻🤣✌

That looks very nice. You done a great job. I’m no carpenter either but I’m getting ready to build a pallet shed. I’m going to go the cheapest route possible and try to use nothing but pallets. You did make me realize that it might be best to buy my lumber for the roofing. As you said the foundation and roof are the main parts of the structure. I’ve used pallets for several different projects but never to build with. Maybe I’m in over my head but maybe not either. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see 😂.

I like the purpose* of the triangulated brace, but the loads that it puts into the horizontal truss ties (tension members) are in the wrong direction for those metal shear plates. They are very weak in any direction other than in line with the plate. loads along the line of the brace/diagonal could actually pop the plates out. It's probably temporary anyway? Once the sheathing is on the roof, you should not need it.

You need noggins between uprights to make structure more rigid.
@falconconcepts
@falconconcepts Год назад
What are noggins?
@annetaylor6395
@annetaylor6395 Год назад
@@falconconcepts they are normally pieces of 2x4 inch wood which are placed between the parallel upright pieces of wood, just think of it as the cross bar in the letter "H" you stagger them, about three feet apart, or closer if wall shorter, I hope I have explained it fairly clearly.

I know I'm two months late with this info but that's just me, Fashionably Late! Anywho, you could have pre-built a full length Ridge Vent Cap. Now onto the important stuff. Your Floor and Roof Sheathing should be laid perpendicular to your joists and with staggered seams. This helps prevent racking of a structure. I'm also a fabricator, not a carpenter - idoitall : ]
@falconconcepts
@falconconcepts Год назад
I appreciate the tips! Hindsight is definitely 20/20 on this one lol. But that’s exactly why I chose a shed to learn on, less critical and more forgiving. Definitely not quitting my day job 😂. If you’re a fabricator, you’ll enjoy the videos I have coming down the pipeline. Thanks for watching!

Are you going to put in a window? You'd probably want one for ventilation for your dog. Maybe you can find a used one somewhere.
@falconconcepts
@falconconcepts Год назад
I haven’t put much thought into a window as of yet, I may do something additional with the roof in terms of ventilation.

ok ok ok thought you build pallet shed for 1000 only 3 walls are pallet not even all the way pallets and rest are 2x4 and siding and practical board also you used lot of nail and screws how is this under 1000 your already over in just wood. I been building a pallet structure from pallets trees and 4 2x10x12 for the support. Also, mine will only have 3 walls due to is an outdoor enclosed space up to my camper. I'm not done and look rough but with the nails screws and wood i bought i at about 250 rest was free pallet and the tree from my land. i was hoping you were going to use the pallets as paneling not buy any same with roof. don't get me wrong looks good just not 1000 look like it way over and not a pallet builds anymore.
