great video! I love to save where I can, and you gave great suggestions. Another thing I like to use are stencils, they work great and save money too! Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas! xoxo Bev.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking it back to basics. I don't know why I never thought of this. I always say I want this punch that punch but don't buy because they are pricey and hard to store. Your idea was fab! Love your videos. Can't wait to start using.
I love this. I make my own templates all the time. It's often quicker & easier to cut out with scissors than pulling out a die cut machine. Good job. Subbed.
Great DIY craft! 1. You helped me SAVE money by doing this on my own. 2. You gave me ideas to do customized embellishments. 3. Your nails look terrific. 4. I noticed your letter E always on your videos. My name is Evelyn and the letter E stands out for me. 5. Thank you for listening to your viewers about DIY's. 6. You are AWESOME! 7. You should be a craft teacher.
Pinkso 50 Yes, customized embellishments is what makes crafting fun and unique! Girl, I slapped that nail polish on a few minutes before filming, thanks! I like all y'all suggestions. Craft teacher would be my dream job…all those supplies and glitter!
great idea. i haven't tried it yet but i think if you use a craft knife to cut out your shapes and just cut around your templates without tracing it may be a lot faster.
This is an awesome video, just wanted to mention as crafter to crafter on a friendly note that the proper term for your templates are considered to be light weight chipboard instead of cardstock. Being if the templates are made from cereal box or sturdy packaging remnants. cardstock is paper not a recycled thin cardboard type material. just thought you'd like to know. thanks for sharing again awesome tips and great well put together video.
+Crafty V You're welcome. I started out by using paper templates before learning about actual craft punchers. I'm glad this video is helping newbies to save a bit of money and to just buy items over time rather than all at once.
Hello Ms. Ebby, I just discovered your channel and now I'm a new subbie! I think your channel if fantastic. I kinda did the same thing for my daughter and granddaughters. I punched out different shapes and things and showed how to put different elements together to create something useful. Now, I have to catch up on all your videos! TFS
Suggestion for purchasing punches: use coupons, thrift stores, wait until they go on sale and craigslist. I used a 60% coupon from Joanns at Michaels to get a few.
greenrmytears Yes, coupons are the best way to cut cost on crafty elements. Sometimes I'll go store to store if there items I really want to utilize those coupons. Thanks for watching!
Glad you did this video as it helps a lot of people you go girl and I see you have people with negative comments don't mine them keep up the great job that you do others do appreciate your kindness bless your heart thank you
i have been making my own tags, and for some i used like the little small loyalty cards the stores give you for your keychain and i traced those out. i dont have any hole punches except for one that does a small tiny flower. so ive been going around my house finding random objects and tracing them out! lol
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LEARNED AND SAVE THE EXPENSIVE HOLE PUNCHERS. THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. AND THE LIFE PROJECTS CARDS......I LOVE THEM. GOD BLESS YOU.
Thanks! I originally started out just tracing shapes until I could afford all those punches. I purchased them one by one with those store coupons but really liked using the cardstock templates too. Glad to have been able to share this little tip with others.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank, Thank You! I bought the Big Shot and thought I was getting dies with it atleast I thought maybe one. But, OH NO none! OMG I was sticker shock after spending the money on the Big Shot, I have NO budget for dies. (MY fault I know for not double checking!) So, Thank You for helping us make our own! Till I get the budget to purchase some dies (one at a time, lol) I will be making my own and it will mean so much more to me know I can make my own.
Never buy "brand" dies cause they will always be triplethe price than nonbranded. I never buy from popular companies like lawn fawn, gina k, hero arts, sss, etc cause they will always be ridiculously priced. You can get everything grom manufacturers in china including dies. I buy mine on ebay and you can get any shape, popular designs, anything from ebay for inexpensive from vendors in china. They also resell on amazon but amazon is more expensive than ebay (because when you purchase the same product from the states the price will always be more even though the product is the same).
So I just wanted to say that I've been binge watching a lot of your videos and you have really amazing content! However, as little piece of constructive criticism (you can take it or leave it), you say "utilize" way too often and many times inappropriately. I didn't really notice it too much in other videos, but it was very apparent in this particular video. This nuance probably doesn't bug 90% of the population, but I encourage you to look up why a simple "use" is sufficient. Anyway, sorry for being a grammar nazi! Keep up the amazing creativity and thanks for sharing your ideas and tips!
