Colette, My thing is placemats, table runners and napkins and I have made them to all match. A few years ago for Christmas I gave my Dad and his wife all that and one side was Christmas fabric and the other side was Thanksgiving. The Christmas fabric had a little white church on it with red doors just like my Dad's first church was right after seminary. The orange plaid flannel you have there I bought a fat qtr at Joann's and I drew a pumpkin that the wrong sides back to back. I snipped in every half an inch after sewing them together. I quilted the top with just a straight stitch and I have a piece of brown flannel cut to look like a stem. It came out very nice. Your mitre corners looks great! When I make miter corners and put on bias tape I use my zipper foot. That makes it easier for me.
Collette I just found your RU-vid channel probably in the last week or so and I'm just loving everything and I have to say you are just a hoot I'm thinking every group of female friends should have one of you in it. it would be so much fun.
Love the fabrics. I handsew, so these are easy to whip up. To make them a little different, you can make your own binding from leftover fabric, if any.
Thanks for the placemat video! I’ve shied away from them since I can’t draw, cut or stitch a straight line either! But I love creating things and sewing/quilting for myself and everyone else! You make me so comfortable with my “style” of sewing, I feel like I can see/sew anything. Thanks for your viewpoint and style which matches my own so much. Love you, girl. Keep them coming!
These are so cute! ❤ I love the fabrics you chose. I have that pink tool that you used. I don't know the proper name, but I call it my pokey tool. I used it for making holes in my journal pages so that it's easier to sew the pages together. I like that you used it to fray the fabric. Thank you! 😊❤
Oh those are so cute and I think I'm going to do that for Christmas presents so thanks. Last year or the year before I made fleece to colors infinity scarves for everybody which match their coats. And last year I think I got those wood slices and mod podge family pictures on them. I think this will be cool and it will be fairly easy so thank you and cheap
Okay, are you reading my mind? I was just thinking of placemats today. Not only are you creative, but you’re a crazy mind reader too? JK 😂😂😂😂 You’re awesome. I would watch you if you were just painting toothpicks all day long, just because you’re so fun. 🤩
Hi, This is my first time on your site. I don't care for either method of your napkins. On Frayed edges or little snips. I'd rather do my top stitching. Encasing the hems in seam binding looks much finished.
