Camper Frame walkaround
The question is to buy or build, I chose build. Building an overland pop-up truck camper or a pickup pop up as I like to call it. The plan is to have it act like a wedge camper as well as a full pop up. Not doing the vanlife or trucklife so the camper needs to be able to come on and off. It also needs come apart to store in a small space.

I'm curious why you chose to connect the 8020 with plates as opposed to double anchor fasteners? Would love to hear your opinion and pros and cons. I've never actually used any of the products. Thanks again for your wealth of knowledge and sharing your experience.

The original plan was to not use 8020 at all. Plates welded to posts. I am still planning to make posts without 8020 so by building the way they are built I can just swap them out.

This is so great. Other than than switching out the 1x2s on the cross section by the tailgate, is this your final design for the frame?

I haven't calculated the cost yet. I'll probably figure all that out once I get the pop-up part done.

I'm working on a similar type design, but I am utilizing a program that you can build a cut list and design loads into it. It's free and seems to work out well. I still have some tweaking on my design but I would like to discuss it further with you. Cheers.

Huge thanks for letting me know about the contact page on the website. I'll get that fixed. I would be interested on what you use for generating a cut list. I think I am still a little ways out for that. Still tweaking and making modifications so it keeps changing on me.

I really need to calculate the cost. I will try to get to it soon. The problem I have been having is buying pieces one at a time as I try to figure out the build. Shipping would be way cheaper if I bought all the pieces at the same time.
