Thanks for the video. Have done something similar with an Igloo cooler. The one additional feature I added to my box was to put Velcro tape horizontally circling the outside. That way I can use Velcro to attach stuff to the box such as my frabill crappie e-z check'r, Rapala scale, fish gripper, sun screen, etc. Now I always know where these items are and don't trip over them.
I got my Ammo box today and set my 1022 up just like this… this will be the perfect answer for taking it out ice fishing up here in Michigan.. thanks for the great Idea Gary
Great video sir👍😁 I just installed my second RAM mount ball on the opposite side of the boat to switch the livescope if I have to👌👌 mine is similar to yours except I used the 30qt Magellan dry/bait box... really love your setup👌👌👌
Having that second ball really helps me out when that darn wind changes direction. Thank you sir for sharing how you have your setup. I’m always interested in how other folks put there’s together
@@CATCHAHAWG I found a good spot with Christmas tree brush piles where the crappie always hang out and it's been pretty good.... I'm expecting it to be even better when the weather smooths out 👍
Hey Bart thanks for the comment. If you look below the video in the description it’s listed below the other crappie fishing videos. The link says waterproof utility box. Takes you right to it 👍
@@CATCHAHAWG you’re welcome and that’s great to hear, I’m setting mine up exactly as yours is. We use our boat for fishing, bowfishing, and duck hunting so permanently mounting it to the boat is just asking for trouble haha I’m glad I found your video.
@@woalmann6288 let me know how you like it. I’m very happy with mine for crappie fishing. I actually prefer it on the trolling motor for bass fishing but I don’t do much of that anymore.
@@CATCHAHAWG yes sir I sure will, I think I’ll try it out on Bob Sandlin this next week some time. I’ll still be calling you for a trip in July on fork once I get my schedule figured out. Crappie that is, those suckers have eluded me for far to long haha
Do you have a toggle switch for the black box? Also the transducer mount is it the one that came in the box with the unit. Didn’t know if I needed to but the other one that you can buy separate.
im looking for ideas to make a twist handle for my livescope pole, in thinking a swivel from a socket set, attached to a rod, and then the top of the livescope pole so im not chasing the handle around.
There’s one out there that may be similar to what you’re talking about. It has a swivel head but you turn it with a cable that has a t-handle on the end of it. You just twist your wrist one way or the other to turn it.
Hey Curtis thank you for your comment. I’ve had others ask me that as well. I’ve not had any issues with mine getting hot even in our Texas heat. However, I only fish around five hours so I’m not sure what all day would do.
@@CATCHAHAWG thank you. I found the answer to the question I had about overheating. Some of our Texas fishing days sure do get hot. Thanks for the video, they’re always good and I like the portability of your setup.
@@CATCHAHAWG I was wondering if you could mount transducer on front trolling motor permanently and plug your system into it instead of separate mount system. Thanks again
I have the battery charger that Dakota recommended. I’ve read several different things when it comes to charging lithium batteries. Some are conflicting. But I did find out earlier this year that the Dakota warranty is great especially if you are using the charger they recommend. I appreciate you taking the time to watch 👍
@@MrToslon yes sir. I had to save for one myself. I was kinda pushed into getting mine since all the other guides on the lake already had one. It sure has made the catching easier lol
Hello Gary....I would like to say that I like your videos......also I order 2 Dakota Lithium batteries but I have any information on shipment and can not find a way to contact them. any info would be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks .....Steve Keeling
I pulled up the web site for Dakota lithium batteries and order the same size that you have plus a charger 219.00 dollars it says allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery ....we will see . i believe it was North Dakota.
I just got disgusted after searching for a pole to mount a tripleshot transducer to front of my boat,,one place sells a unit for 650,,,SIXFIFTY for a dam pole and 35 ram mount,,i will use your idea to make me what i need,,i also need a protector for my tripleshot transducer i have mounted on transom..it sticks out alot and is always getting cracked,,
Hey Charlie, I really like the way I have mine set up. It works well for my style of fishing and it a very inexpensive. Thank you for taking the time to comment 👍
