Excellent. I’m going with something similar. I’m going to mount skateboard wheels in a track. That might help reduce the strain on the motor by decreasing the resistance. You are a brilliant carpenter and motivator. Thank you very much for sharing your talents!
Great idea. Looks like it works a treat. I am in the process of building one similar out Ikea mesh baskets (I attach the sawzall to one basket, and then place the other basket inside it).
Very clever! I would add some simple bearing rails to the sifter, like thrown out drawer slides. And some vibration dampers for the frame, maybe some heavy weights hanging from semi-rigid pendulums? Like 3/4" cpvc pipes with old concrete filled plastic weights ppl throw out all the time... cement a coupling at the bottom of pipe to hold weight, maybe get some nice counter-movement to the sawzall! 🤔😁
you probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream all the new movies on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my brother for the last months :)
I've been researching various sources of power to move the screen, and I keep coming back to the reciprocating saw. I was concerned with getting 7/8 to 1" of travel, but I think that's going to be enough. Building it on top of a gorilla cart. With 3D printed parts and steel rails. I may even 3D print a new case to replace the original saw.
thanks for the comment! I haven't had any issue so far, as I only run it for 20 minutes or less while I'm sifting a wheel barrel full, then I shut it off.
