Credit where it's due. This lad has managed to consistently put videos of nonsense out that get over 800k views. In this video, he randomly connects the 5v regulator to some pins on the motor driver IC. The IC with the insulator/heat spreader he pulled off, like it randomly achieved something. Inside that case he's shoved a cheap Chinese class D amp module with Bluetooth, and shows it powering about 1/2 watt into a speaker. He's cracked RU-vid, by making complete random rubbish in all his videos. Yet here we are, watching, and more importantly commenting, which is why the algorithm keeps pushing his videos, and why we keep watching them.
There isnt an amplifier stage in there. There also isn't an analog to digital converter. Sata carries raw data and in that drive...Unless u decode the data and then find sound signal...then later amplify that with a chip...even tda2003 or tda2030 or 2040. Those are easy to use ics on dual supply which gotta be modified if using that computer power supply
Thank God for people like you! Every time I see one of these videos The curiosity in me has to click it to see if they're actually going to do it right for a change and I always exit out of it halfway through it cuz I get disgusted and in doing so I usually don't leave a comment but I'm glad you put it right out there! These videos piss me off 🔥 and of course they have to throw in an absurd amount of wattage on the pic to get you to click it only to be disappointed at the barely half a watt pushing some full range crap out of a 1987 zenith not in a box and it's usually popping and cracking so bad you can't even hear music if that's what you call music
Yes, i took the Power of my baking oven, with 3 x 240 V it works better. I hope he will trie this little change, and he get narrow with his Ears to hear it well...
The only thing he did that was actually of any value here was teach people what color wire they need to find to trick the power supply to turn on without being plugged into a motherboard
If you know a little about electronics, you should know that every CD, DVD, BLUE RAY has an analog preamplifier, after the digital-to-analog converter ;) There is no sata data here! Even on older models, there was a female stereo headphone output with volume potentiometer and player control buttons.
@@longnamedude3947 I was being facetious. However, I was also commending the creative tact for snagging viewers. You can't blame a person for making a crazy $. It's better than grifting.
The funniest things is that, you dont need to modify the circuit for play songs, Give 12v & 5v supply. just use multimedia speaker's audio IN pin insert in front side of the CDRAW. there is an audio socket with headset symbol. I had done it in 2001with CREATIVE speaker :D
Things need to make a player: 1) CDRAW (if headphone jack socket on front side is more convenient) 2) SMPS power supply 12v & 5v. Normal PC SMPS suitable for this CDRAW. 3) Multimedia speaker Just connect the SMPS to CDRAW first, connect the multimedia speaker pin into headphone socket on CDRAW. If no socket on front side, check backside for digital audio output. That’s all.
great project I made some upgades tho like wireless charging also its now water cooled and overclocked. i need to know how big or how many uf should my cap be . oops also I am using multi strand 0 Gauge power harness with discount aluminum contectors.
Beautiful! Based on this idea, I'm going to make the Statue of Liberty's head explode with just the laser that's installed in the DVD drive. And by the way, with the rest of the drive circuit I'm going to develop a machine that gives digital farts in Technicolour!
if thats true, the problem with that invention is that you cannot control the volume and tracks of songs, and you only use cd's or maybe dvds to play that sounds, thats totally useless this days. it is not also applicable to other models of dvd roms with different circuit and schematics and ics
7:27 where do i download this music dvd? the name of the dvd seems to be "song ca bolero tru tinh" vol.6 dvd2, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything similar to download on the internet.
@@zakimira6446 those were different old drives. This one doesn't have such feature. It's fake. He may be using some small Bluetooth amplifier inside the DVD drive. I trust if he open the drive and show us playing different cd's/dvd's
@@azis7281 Yes, this is a PC DVD drive. There is no point in even having any media decoder into that unit. It would not make sense in any capacity, that is not how PCs are architectured.
So, you play a DVD video as audio CD on SATA cable, after making some voodoo connections on a unknown IC from which you removed the thermal pad and got a huge audio power. Seems legit. Mind you if I don't liked the click-bait and the amazing amount of BS?
He might be hiding some music player somewhere around and using some thin wires he connected that wires to that speaker. Otherwise it's impossible to get audio from a CD ROM without amplifier.
its possible i did it 20 years ago when i did not have a cd player i used a cdrom drive which had 3.5 jack and volume regulator and play buttons. i connected a normal speaker and put it in a big wooden box and it was actually very good. used it for a long time like that and people always ask me were the music was coming from. all he did is rerouted the audio signal to the sata port.
@@robbirobson7330 Impossible. There is no audio analog signal anywhere on this CD. What you did was used the audio jack to drive a speaker, which should have been quite low in power. In this video, to route the "inexistent" analogue audio to the SATA data output would need extensive traces cutting and routing, which he evidently didn't do. Second, the IC he "jumpered" is an r2a30254, which is a motor driver. This is totally fake, period.
It would be great if you display compinent datasheet so it would make more sense of what you are doing. Furthermore some dvd had speaker output for direct music
You just somehow triggered play and rerouted the audio to the SATA data connector. 1, Can this modification damage the drive itself? Audio on the data connector feels incorrect... 2, Can this be stereo or only just mono? 3, Can the volume somehow be adjustable? 4, Can the play be triggered on/off with a switch? And maybe how about "skip forward"?
The bridges of the modification are bare copper so I think it would be easy to short-circuit from moving it around too much, So it would be better to use sheilded wire instead.
@@braedonpeo4870 I think that copper is (maybe) stronger, harder to bend... Anyway, shielded wire is better, of course. But, *is it fake or not???* I never saw a SATA drive play audio on its own! I know, IDE drives can do that, but a modern drive like this in the video?? 🤔
There is a slim possibility that the IC used in this drive has analog output... As there were drives that came with a stock 1/8" jack... But that wouldn't be powerful enough to move a speaker like that. And the wiring he did doesn't seem to make much sense. My guess is he hid an amp module inside, connected to the power rails and output is hooked to the SATA connector
