Dude this is wild! I was literally looking into installing a long metal beam in my studio across the room and using some sort of arms/clamps so I could stop being limited by a tripod. That setup was so dang functional! Then you added the tracking gimbal! crazy
@Zibartas
@Zibartas 3 года назад
Yup!! It's as tall as my workshop too so you can do Birdseye view shots as well as convenient overhead shots too! ;D

I was already impressed with a camera stand/arm build in one day... Then it started TRACKING!? Amazing!

Solid build, concise editing, and very personable and excellent explanations, but the best part is your reaction when your proof of concept came to life. There's a lot of frustration with the creative process but when something works out it is very satisfying

I love you, i really do, from the deepest of my heart. I have this in mind and i didn't know some people already thought about the same thing. Thank you for the tutorial ❤

Very nice. I don't weld, but I do have a couple of monitor arms lying around. With a little creative finagling, his could work with not just cameras, but also lights or mics. Hmmm....

Haha thank you!! And my welding skills are cringey xD for some reason most of the welds turned out porous in this project- never had this issue before with my old filler rods :(

That's brilliant! I have a tripod but never use it as it takes a lot of space. So I came up with an idea and bought a mic stand and arkon bracket, now I used it as a tripod and works perfect!

Excellent build its a monster. I think the rail is quite expensive and one could use black pipe in place for a little rougher ride up and down the mast. For the base, you can use a heavy lifting weight, choose the weight size you want it can be drilled taped, and welded although it has much graphite. I'm building A Living room lamp with an old wooden tripod cool, but I want it very adjustable and a dimming light with lots of adjustment for detail work. Love your build!!!! I happen to have a Monitor arm in the garage I was going to trash now I have the perfect solution to my build... Thanks for your Video, Sharing is great !!!

This was well done, and welcome. Just yesterday I shopped for the same or similar support tube and slider combo. I found several that looked identical to the one you used. If I build one, I don't think I would use the monitor arm, some sort of cross-bar like the more usual studio stand would be a bit more stable. But, your rig seems to work just fine, even with the auto-tracking running. Congratulations!

I'm just here for the creative builds. 🍿What I reeeally need to know is what that super multifunctional angle grinder thing is exactly. 👀 I live in a shoebox so the more a tool does, the better, my current €15 angle grinder is just no longer ... cutting it
@Zibartas
@Zibartas 3 года назад
It's just a regular angle grinder! :D I just use different disks for different tasks (cutting, grinding, polishing). :)

Great job. I suggest putting some triangular supports at the bottom of the mount. This will reduce flexing and vibration, but will sacrifice about 40cm of vertical positioning at the bottom.

1 question: why did you have that weight at the bottom of the bar? Wasn't it better to have a "cargo jack bar"? It's stable and you can easily move it, it doesn't wiggle and it desn't shake...

Step ONE, buy a shit load of shop tools. Step TWO, learn how to use them safely and properly. Step THREE, stop kidding yourself and go buy a proper stand.
