Have you tried making these? Do you have an idea on how to display your child's art? Would love to know in the comments!

Awesome! I was thinking when I try it out I might not glue the back plate so deep, so that I can add two loops of elastic to hold the older pictures and store behind the new picture!

I'm an elementary school teacher and we are looking for an easier way for our art teacher to display art. These might be an awesome volunteer project!

That's awesome!! We love them, super easy to swap in and out and you can really make them whatever size you need. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing how to make these!! I truly appreciate your time, sharing of knowledge, and humor :) "Under Pressure", "hi Matt!", brought me a grin 😀, and caused me to click that 'Subscribe' button. I have 3 youngsters, and 2 of them are mega artists 🎨. These are going to be a huge help, a sweet relief for our suffering fridge, and corkboards 😆 Hope you, and those you love, are doing great!

Thank you for sharing! In contrast to another tutorial I saw, I like that you do not buy two frames to make one. Now, that's a sturdy, frugal, Dad Style frame! Leaving out the glass screen also means you'll never have to wipe off any fingerprints. However, as a mom who doesn't mind using the µfiiber cloths I got, think I will not fill in the stacked cardboard like you did but rather attach an elastic-band railing (as seen on etsy) so store a handful of swap pages or also allow some softly supported wiggle room for 3D stuff to back up a little behind the glass.

Thank you so much for this! Appreciate the note!

I kind of like your mention of buying two frames, as the likelihood of me making the 2nd one is *very* slim! Thanks.

Just found you based on a search for DIYS. Been interested in an art change display for my daughter, but didn't want to spend even $20. This came out great! Thanks for the inspiration! New subscriber! 😁

I loved the video, but I had a hard time writing all the materials. You mentioned you had a materials list. Where could I find it?

Hey there thanks for the note! The materials are in the description of the video. Check out the shopping list. Everything should be there. Thanks!

Can I glue the glazing back onto the frame? What would you say your cost breakdown is? Thank you for this-I’m excited to try!
@MADEbyAP
@MADEbyAP Год назад
Hi there sorry for the delay. RU-vid seems to have stopped notifying me of comments ugh. My cost breakdown was about 15/frame but I also had a lot of materials on hand. You could certainly add the acrylic back in for sure. I wouldn’t use glass just in case they fall off the wall while switching the art. Good luck and share a pic with me on Instagram (@madebyap81) when you’re done!

Can you put the glass back in?
@MADEbyAP
@MADEbyAP 3 месяца назад
I wouldn’t. It’ll make the frames a bit heavy. You could probably use plexiglass though.

How would you add elastic bands for storage of old art work under the new artwork? I have seen other frames with bands on the backboard.
@MADEbyAP
@MADEbyAP Год назад
You could probably cut two rubber bands in half and then staple them to the bottom frame (on the inside) so the bad stretches over the cardboard spacer. The only issue with that is you could potentially crease the old artwork because the spacer is smaller than the frame. That’s the only thing I can think of. I will say though you won’t want to keep too many in there because spacing will become an issue (ie the magnets won’t be able to latch). Hope that helps!

1/ 4 in sewing elastic would work great
@alurasalteredart3968
@alurasalteredart3968 Год назад
@rustyowl7255 I agree with that. That's what I'd use if wanting bands to hold pieces.
@mztea72

if you did it the other way around you would have glass protecting the art?
@MADEbyAP
@MADEbyAP 10 месяцев назад
I’d just be hesitant of having the glass in there. It’ll add weight to the frame so when you open it it’ll be more likely to fall off the wall. And god forbid one of the kids are changing their own frames and the glass shatters. I’d just keep it glass free but that’s just me!

you can glue the glass into the frame, and it has already made to be hung with the glass that came in the frame which is quite light. @@MADEbyAP
