If you do rattan again, soak it in a warm bath for 20 mins before you secure it to your frame and when it dries the rattan shrinks a bit and the rattan is tight as a drum and looks so professional 😊
What a wonderful project and such perfect - re=purposing. I have to say though that I am in need of the shelves as they were and elastic walls as my 9 bookcases were long ago exceeded by my ever increasing book additions! Another great Small Fry video! Thanks Ainslee! Eryk :-)
1) I like that BP 4-in-1 too. 2) Sherbet is adorable. 3) That is an epic huge top. 4) Rattan looks awesome and is very much trending in YT search... little title tweek? 😜5) Love ya work Ains.
Thank you. I sure do. if you scroll back through my videos there is a video I did where I make 4 or 5 table saw jigs and that is one of them. Its fantastic and useful for so many jobs.
Top job!!! I suppose you could make a ton of money selling that type of furniture. Do you buy the original unit or was it a "find"? I might try flipping one of them myself and see how I go. 👍
Yeah there is money to be made for sure. Especially flipping the hutches as everyone seems to get rid of them. I picked it up for free off marketplace. I have another coming in the pipeline and I’m going to do something different again which should be a bit of fun 😀
Really good job. Love your videos you make it look so easy. Practice makes perfect in my case. Still got a long way to go. Love the Blackbutt. I am looking to make a top like that for something I want to build. With the thicknesser it comes up so good. Where did you get your Blackbutt Timber from if you don't mind me asking.
Thank you. Just gotta chip away at the projects. I purchased the timber in bulk out near Appin NSW. I found them on Facebook Marketplace and purchased about 100m about 2 years ago and have just slowly been making my way through it.
Hi, great job on the sideboard 👍 I’m about to attempt doing radio weave rattan on some wardrobe doors, and I’d read that it’s easier to apply and stretch after wetting it down because it shrinks when drying and becomes taut. It was hard to tell but did you do this first or just apply it dry?
Thank you. I applied it dry but I have heard the same thing. I have been told I should soak in warm water for 20 minutes and then pat dry. Then it will be extra tight once stapled on and dried.
