Just a keen wood worker contributing to the community. I love to spend my spare time in the shop designing and building. Most of the time my builds are for myself or friends and family. RU-vid is my education. Wood working started as a way to help with stress but now is my obsession!
Any questions feel free to email me a smallfrycreations18@gmail.com
Happy building and remember to always be safe, wear the right safety and build for life!
It’s awesome to get shown how to use the tool. Lots of videos are 20 minutes of adjusting the router or testing features, but this is the first I’ve seen that immediately shows a practical use-case, setting up guides, and getting started. Thanks!
Thank you. Depending how much your using having two 3ah or 5ah will work because you can then have one on charge and one working. Anything less then 3ah runs out really fast.
This was super helpful and I enjoyed the examples. You’ve made me interested in exploring more of what my router can do and thanks for the info on the bits
It is a reliable machine. The main thing is every machine needs maintenance so as long as you keep it clean and well maintained there is no reason its not reliable. It terms of longer jobs with the machine its depends on the material. As the laser works the laser head will get a build up of dust pending the material. Air assist with help alot with this but depending on the job you may not want to use air assist. The build up then weakens the laser. This will happen with every laser but something to think about when planning projects.
I got sculpfun s30 about a week ago and turned out sculsadness...one switch is not working and they told me could be even from motherboard...anyways,i m still trying to figure out how to make it work.I m trying to engrave some letters and in the middle while on the screen seem ok,they get lasered reversible upside down or left to right...what can i do?
Excellent review. I greatly appreciate you sharing with us the number of hours it took to do the different parts of the job, the length of the fence etc. Most don't do that at all. It all just happens in a few minutes of edited video. Many thanks for keeping it real.
How would one be able to engrave the top of a wooden chest? I ask because of how low the laser sits. Would I need to raise the laser on a platform so it is high enough for the wooden chest or would I need to take apart the top of the wooden chest and place it underneath the laser?
You could do it both ways. You can raise the laser up and have it sit on stands or something similar to get it to the right height or you can remove the lid. Just depends what easier for you but both would work
Excellent list Ainslie - gotta get some of those things for my workshop and for my school. Love those pipe clamp stands - adding it to the list of things to print once I get back to school next term and start playing with our 3d printers.
It sounds to me like you're on the east side of the pond, so I don't know if these are available to you, but...I use Bessey brand 1/2" pipe clamps that have built-in risers. They have the cast crank handles rather than the wimpy little metal dowels for cranking the clamps, and the risers are tall enough to keep your knuckles intact whilst tensioning the clamp. They are a quality product with strong tailstock clutches that sell for about $15 USD on the west side of the pond. Good info! I'll be back 😊
Thank you. Could always go a large pipe size if worried. I have used them to clamp up dinning tables and haven’t had an issue but could always go bigger 😀
Your on fire mate! 💪 Will definitely be ordering most, if not all. So, you have the file, you have the printer. Would you consider selling them yourself? I’d buy them. If you think there are ethical issues around the seller of the file, that fee could be included and be passed on. Love the content as usual. Cheers Howard
