These cinnamon applesauce ornaments are one of my favorite Christmas crafts, so easy and they smell amazing.
Supplies Needed:
3/4 C Applesauce
Two 2.37 oz Bottles Cinnamon
Cookie Cutters
Straw
String

So pretty, and I love the little trick you used to keep them in place. We always make these for our tree with some dried oranges every year. It does make the house smell amazing.

Your reindeer are adorable. I’ve made this recipe over the yrs and used gingerbread man cookie cutters. They make wonderful garlands, ornaments & package decorations. Such a great kid friendly project.

Thank you for the reindeer garland recipe and how to! Even thou my hubby and I are empty nesters I love Christmas and I plan to make this easy garland. I enjoy your channel and love how you have done your home! I love the New England style and I decorate my home in this style too. your State of New Jersey and my State Maryland are typically not a part of New England but we both have alot of history and that makes us both close enough. I just purchased my applesauce last week and waited for our early Thanksgiving to be over to start making these! I used to add glue (and my father added saw dust), but when I saw how smooth yours were, I was excited to make them this way! I have the same copper cookie cutter that I have used for maybe 50 years or so. Our ornaments will be hanging ( I think) from a chandelier wreath inspired by a magazine picture I saved and on our trees. Thank you for sharing your tips!

I made the snowflakes. I might just have to make reindeer too !! I have the perfect spot for them my friend, and yes they make the house smell amazing. This year I want to try the oranges as well. That's 200 Fahrenheit. Don't be silly and forget to convert this to Celcius if you cook with Celcius. Let's just say I might be speaking from experience. Don't worry, I made a second and successful batch last year and plan to reuse it this Christmas. Thanks again for the inspiration, Hilary! Yours look gorgeous among the greenery.

These are adorable. We cant buy apple sauce in large quantities here in the UK. I’m going to try to get some small cans which we can buy to serve with roast pork if I can find them although I haven’t seen them in the shops lately. What do you use such large quantities of apple sauce for in the US

Mostly children eat it as a snack. It is also served as a side with potato pancakes or pork. Some people also use it as a fat replacer when baking muffins and cakes.

The scent lasts for years, it’s the strongest at first but still smells lovely years later

So needless to say, don’t pull out my $8.00 jar of Vietnamese cinnamon. Lol. Btw, for regular baking you’ll never go back to regular cinnamon. That’s what I use for baking. I’m going to the dollar store for $1.00 cinnamon. I can’t wait to make these. They were adorable.

I get a huge 10 oz bottle of Saigon cinnamon from Costco for $3 or $4. It's excellent for baking and totally worth the cost for this project, the fragrance is so lush and lovely.

Oh no I tried this today and I don’t know what I did wrong but they did not work. It was either to dry or to wet. I tried to follow someone else’s recipe with the glue and again didn’t work I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. But of well on to the orange slices.
