Lori, I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to make some homemade fabric ornaments. I am going to make them for all of my mama’s grandkids as a Christmas gift. She is 97 and is at home, but failing and we have hospice for her now. To make the ornaments special for the kids I am sewing buttons on from her “button box” that she gave me some years back. So thank you for the gift of inspiration! Christmas blessings to you and yours. 🎄❤️
12 years ago my father passed away and left me an inheritance. I wanted to move to Arkansas and buy a little farm. I love chickens and gardening. Overruled by husband and son. Went to the western mountains. I could have been neighbors of Miss Lori's. Love your videos.
Living in an RV we pared down so stringently that we ended up with no Christmas...no lights, no ornaments, no tree, nothing. But I think I can make some of these ornaments and string them at the top of the woodwork. It will smell heavenly! Thanks for the encouragement and the how-to!
I only recently started watching your channel and I have subscribed. I'm 75 yrs old and I have learned so much from you.. I love these ornaments and I plan to make some for the residents in the assisted living home our church visits every month. It's hard with COVID finding something they can have and this would be wonderful. Thank you so much. Love your channel!!
I love these. I remember making them as a kid and made them with my boys. You know they don't have to just be Christmas. They are a pretty lik gift kids can make year round. Grandma's and aunts or teachers. Just have pretty cookie cutters and decorate with the loved ones fave colors or kitchen/ bedroom look. Good to hang in their car too, to smell good year round! Can use in bathrooms, drawers, cabinets, in windows. Get that vintage cottage farmhouse look.
Love watching your old videos, I am going to make these Hearts ♥️ so cute .I have a lot of my mothers buttons . I am 65 , I remember my mother’s button and threat box so I don’t know how old they are. Perfect . I keep it when she passed.
I love this Ms Lori :) I loved all the little primitive stores when I was in America, and the beautiful scents wafting out the door. Those scents and a desire for a simple life was what got me into soap making and candles in the first place. I love your decor and ornament/decorating ideas. I don't know anyone else here in NZ that has 'prim' things, but I do and love them !! Thank you for sharing this beautiful craft work and your sweet home life xoxo :)
Oh the memories! I used to make cinnamon ornaments w my sons when they were kids. I saved our juice box straws to make perfect sized holes for stringing. If you want to decorate them,I mixed non toxic paint with glue & painted after they dried.
Ms. Lori, I just found this video and am so thankful. I have been wanting to do some crafts with the grandkids before they go back to school and what a great way start Christmas gifts for their friends! I love you so much! Thank you.
My grandfather would go out and cut branches from a bush that had long (about an inch) thorns on the , he would cut a base for a stand and come Xmas, they would stick sugar gum candy on each thorn. I loved that tree as we all did because candy was few and far awY in those days. Just thought I would mention these thorn bushes to perhaps make yourself a “gum drop tree” for the grandkids.
I’ve just discovered Miss Lori and Mr Brown. Love every one of the videos I’ve seen, and Miss Lori has gotten me back into cooking after giving up once my boys left home. I am eating so many lovely things now instead of making do with toast or crackers and cheese. Watching this one I got a bit of a shock when Miss Lori said add glue! What type of cake is this?. Then it dawned on me she was making ornaments. Good job I realised before I served up glue biscuits to my friends and neighbours . Thank you Miss Lori and Mr Brown for being the calm in the storm which is life these days.
Such fun hand sewing my rustic heart garland. Mine was made sewing 9 flannel plaid hearts attached to a double crocheted garland made from some medium blue and burgandy embroidary floss I had. Used some fun buttons from my years of collecting to accent the hearts. Have to mount the wooden pegged wall hanger to display my rustic creation♡ Thanks Lori for the sweet idea.
thank you so much I wanted to try to make my tree like back in the days old fashion but wanted to make what I could from hand LOVE IT...YAY watched this on 8/30/19 7:06 p.m.
Beautiful decorations. Mother made great applesauce. It was especially good when slightly warm. Sweet red Delicious apples were the all-around favorites where we lived. Big, dark red ones. Now relatively pellet-sized, sour ones are over $1.00 each!
Love your table decor. I have the same scale. This year for my table I filled an old wooden silverware box with moss, ferns, pinecones and the like from my yard.
I am so glad I ran across this because my grandkiddos are coming up tomorrow to go hunting and this will be something neat they can do with grandma and take home with them for their tree. They live about 300 miles south of us so we will be there for Christmas in the memorable and scented Ginger Bread ornaments with them all! Thanks!
Lori I used my husbands cowboy hat on top as tree topper had jute bows out of our bailing twine and used cheerios cereal on twine to make garland it was my all time favorite tree of all
You two are so funny. Loved the snowman skit! I bet you both have so much fun together and lots of laughs. We are heading to 2019 Christmas and all the other holidays. Looking forward to seeing all of your videos each day. I get my coffee turn this thing on and then go to you alls you tube channel. Love the handmade hearts. Also the applesauce is definitely going to be something I make.
I love primitive decorations....and simply adore your little tree in the tin bucket! The quilt on the table looks wonderful! I like the idea of drying the apples and oranges for ornaments. We have a dehydrator and I want to try this for Christmas this year. You are not only a good cook and gardener, but also have a knack for decorating! God Bless.
Love your cabin and your tree! I got to add dried fruit to mine this year! Love homemade ornament love to do them with kids . Thank you so much for sharing
Lori, love this video, it screams Christmas cozy home. I can just smell the scents. I love primitive. That was a wonderful thing you did leaving the tree up for the kids at school.
Genius idea for the spice ornaments! Definitely giving these a try. I've found that when making edible cookies for the tree, using a drinking straw to make the holes for the hanging cord really helps make them not only large enough so with the baking "shrinkage" they're still big enough, it also makes it easier. Sure that would work on these also. Your rustic heart ornaments gave me an idea for using some old flannel shirts that hold some very sentimental memories for us. Thank you for sharing your lovely spirit! May God Bless you and those you hold most dear. *LK*
I love your videos and find you like the same colors I like and a lot of the things I like for decorating I wish I had the home you have it is absolutely beautiful you do such an amazing job with all you do to keep your home so awesome . I think I might of been born in the wrong error. I like all the old fashioned things. A simpler way of living.God Bless and thank you for the video.🐞🦬❤️
Trying to help you retire sooner by commenting on each video 😂. It’s the end of July and I’m peeling tomatoes to can and I’ve got my phone on the shelf in front of me watching your videos. Lovin’ it!!! God bless y’all❤️
I have great memories of making cinnamon ornaments with my grandbabies when they where young. I would love to have you share quilting with us sometime.
Hi Mrs. Lori One year for a different look i had some paper bags handy and cut out gingerbread men, then stuffed them and took some embroidery red thread and did a simple blanket stitch. They are some of my favorite ornaments
I love anything old and to use in my everyday life. Love the quilt, I'm a quilter. To me they make a home. Love your videos. I grew up in AR,KS. Miss it dearly and the people. I live in Oregon and love to go home one day. Keep making your videos. Thank you
U have me making these hearts now and I’m going to do that rag garland this yr if I find the material I want.we downsized our home and I won’t have room for a big wide tree..I’m going to get a narrow style tree..thanks for the reminder of simple things..many blessings!
It’s going to be June first tomorrow. And It’s already so blasted hot ( I’m in Utah) I needed a little Christmas love. And that little bit with the snow man and his wife. That made me laugh so hard. It reminds me of me and my husband. We want to be JUST LIKE you guys when we grow up
LOVE everything ! Primitive is THE best in my opinion. I have some old cheap brand cinnamon ~ I hope it has enough fragrance left in it to make the ornaments. Your little tree is beautiful !!!
Have you ever thought of painting the background of the fireplace black? And if not paint using a black fabric to enhance your fireplace? It's the artist in me that makes me speak this way, smile !!
I absolutely love this!🤗❤️. Great ideas. I love prim. Just got me a 7 ft., thin alpine tree and will be decorating prim for sure! Thank you for sharing. And I’ve got a BUNCH of old buttons, thinking of making a garland somehow with them😀
Your home looks beautiful. Love the garland. I'm going to have to make that. Very smart to put the tree on the stool. There's just enough room under it for Mr. Santa Brown to leave a piece of jewelry in a pretty little wrapped box. Love the way you think! 😉
Thank you, HootOwl Holler, I love my prim decor for Christmas, Mr. Santa Brown is buying me a new phone! I make all my videos, from my old phone, nothing fancy, can't wait to get new one! Merry Christmas!
Wow, these are so beautiful and very special. It could become a tradition with grandchildren making a different one each year. Thank you for sharing your great ideas. Peace and Much Love to You ❤🕊🧘♀️❤
If I could leave Christmas up all year I would cause I just love it. I’m going to make your gingerbread men cause I’m sure the smell is wonderful! Thank you for sharing!
