Great idea! Bought one today. Whilst struggling with the knot, I noticed on the reel there was a 2nd hole. Pushed the paracord through that hole and fished it out with a mechanics pick/hook. Tied it in a simple knot, melted it to keep it tight and pushed it back inside the housing. Did the same thing to the clothesline but just cut it off. Boom! Works like a charm. The plastic housing is flexible enough to do this.
Good info, great camera. I was surprised that you did not melt the ends at cuts to avoid fraying, like at your double figure 8 knot AND anchor reel bungee.
good video. Not wanting to drill holes, I simply mounted the clothesline on a T-Trac, fed the anchor line through a pulley attached to the bow grab handle. Removeable. Not as versatile as a trolley, but suits my needs for the present.
I just run the line through the triangle ring. If you use a big enough ring you can run your stakeout pole through it too. I also use stainless steel locking d rings to attach the line to the Anchor I’m using. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I use mine with both my drag chain or anchor trolley. Mine comes out goes through a D- Ring and then through my trolley ring. Just make sure you have a cleat for the trolley to keep it from moving with the water direction.
You can, it would work. I tried to just didn’t hold up, lost my anchor. This is just better long term. But If you try it let me know how long it last for you. It’s been a while since I did mine can’t remember how long it lasted.
