We only sell the filters on Amazon, atm. You can find our RO systems directly on our site though: www.uswatersystems.com/drinking-water/reverse-osmosis-systems/under-sink-reverse-osmosis
This isn't a good video to follow. I think she just destroyed her membrane by forgetting to flush her filters BEFORE attaching the membrane. The black carbon coming out of the faucet is a sign she either broker her membrane or installed the drain water to the faucet. Either way, you should install everything EXCEPT the membrane and flush the carbon filter until it comes out clear. THEN install the membrane. Sorry to disappoint everyone.
Does it filter microplastics? And if so, does the plastic tubing introduce new microplastics? And if so, does anyone sell a plasticless reverse osmosis filter system??
These are special plastic that doesn't dissolve in water. It removes all the plastic inside the water. Besides that water only passes thru the plastic for a short time and than stored in the stainless steel tank so there is no worries about the plastic dissolving.
Plumber here. Don't use Teflon tape for that type connection- the connection seals through a rubber gasket so teflon tape can either get in the way of fully tightening it or if it sits across the rubber gasket ive seen that cause a leak as well. Otherwise great video.
Imagine a concept where you sign on to learn a trade and someone teaches. Instead, their own greed leaves to think they could leave you to do a task you are not prepared for or have been taught to do so they could go onto the next job. Imagine being paid less because you don't know the trade and nobody will teach you.
Imagine needlessly victimizing a situation. Imagine gathering the information you lack about a job you don’t have any experience doing, all accessible in a device at the tips of your fingers. Imagine...
@@SaturnsReturn77 imagine thinking that using your phone on a job wouldn't get you two checks and a "thanks, we don't need you anymore". Imagine understanding what trade craft consists of and boiling it down to googling and thinking you are an actual craftsman.
@@ryhu4755 I understand and wholeheartedly agree with your position. I think we are watching the same game but I’m in the bleachers and you’re in the dugout. I’ve been in those shoes and made it work and ended up thriving. Albeit I’m in a different industry but still lacked adequate and competent leadership for almost a year. I realize had it not been for my mentor I would not be at the level that I am now. But before he came along, I would research and study up on relevant practices and terminology at home and it saved my ass. No, you can’t call yourself a craftsman from googling techniques and how-to-dos. But it keeps you moving forward to the goal. So, I think we have more in common than not but to the same token the knowledge is out there for us to seize and make our own. Ill be dammed if I slow my pace for the old head to warm up to me or think I’m worth a damn just to get a little hands-on guidance. I’ve felt and still feel the bitterness I’m perceiving from you. But that should never stop us from moving forward. Go around the barrier or go through it but don’t give in to it.
You don’t even need Teflon tape. It’s counterproductive. The hose has a rubber gasket. It’s similar to your garden hose. Pipes that screw in be it metal or plastic that don’t come with a rubber gasket is when you apply Teflon tape. And yes it goes on clockwise.
Thanks for showing the type of dual faucet that can be used to serve both RO and regular water. I asked several plumbing experts at different hardware stores and they all recommended drilling an additional hole into the countertop! Which is more complicated, expensive and risky.
@@michaelvieira5659 you can buy in line air gap adapters/valves that mount under the sink in between the filter system and the faucet. This way you can still have an air gap without a dedicated air gap faucet.
Sorry about that. If you ever have any issues, feel free to call our tech support. They'll be more than happy to answer any questions you have! (800)608-8792
Thanks for watching. You can find all of our made in the USA RO's here: www.uswatersystems.com/drinking-water/reverse-osmosis-systems/under-sink-reverse-osmosis
Glad you replied. I noticed all the other RO installation videos include flushing the carbon out of the system BEFORE installing the membrane. It keeps the larger carbon from forcing its way past the membrane. Do you advise skipping that step?
Are you on a septic system? Wondering about your garburator as they can cause problems to tile fields, sandy mound systems, or any system that relies on perforated pipes or filters.
In the installation Demonstrations .Installer was not cleat on which line connected where . Color lines were used. But was confusing on which line goes to what conection.
Nice video. I was thinking install this system in my garage because of space concern under the sink and was hoping that I can use the drain from the washer's drain pipe.
Thanks.. But I have question.. So.. blue tube goes in to the water tank. How filtered water goes in and out from the tank? It should have two lines in order to in and out?
@@aaronbaraiya3692 yes the filters were are replaced but the tech missed one detail. He didn't open the main valve back open which my discovered lol. Now we are good 👍
You'd have to wait 5 mins for a glass of drinking water. The system fills the tank to full, which your faucet draws from. The tank is filled slowly but because you have a lot in there, you'll have more before you get to the bottom (unless you leave the faucet on for an absurd amount of time) It fills even when you aren't running the faucet.
it looks like the system you were installing is 3/8' tubing system...its ratio must be 1.5:1 (much better than other system every 3 wasted gallons of water to get 1 cleaned gallon of water)..
the 1st step should be to turn the water off that leads to that faucet ! There are a lot of stupid people out there that would not realize this and then panic when they flood their kitchen lol
what about water pressure? we have ridiculously high pressure. will that blow those lines out that you just push in? what kind of connectors are those anyway? aren't you afraid they will blowout? I'm a total novice! lolol
YOUR AWESOME!!! Love this video helped me sooo much! Bought mine second hand from someone who didn’t want to bother with install. Missing a few connections and manual but now I know exactly how to do it. And I didn’t even have to listen to any unnecessary talking about random stuff it was straight to the point! Girl power!!!! Awesome!! Loved it!! I wish all the DYI videos were this good!!! 😊😊😊😊😊
Our replacement filter packs are $44.95 and should last you a year. The membrane needs to be changed every 3 to 5 years and those cost between $40 and $50.
Hello there, I wanted to know, if i don't connect the drain inlet and outlet under the air gap faucet and have the RO drain connected directly to the PVC drain , will water come out of the inlet and outlet port once the system is active, thanks!
I'm so confused, why does the sediment filter wire, go on the drainage pipe? How does that make the filter effective? Isn't it supposed to go on the wire that releases water and leads to the filtered water? Unless it gets the water that drains and then cleanses it. That's disguisting, can someone clarify if i'm wrong
What’s the difference of installing this? Surely None! Replacements are about $50 x 3 a year right, and One spend only $10 a month for a couple tanks using vending machine and the vending includes also fluoride filtered water plus carbon filter.
A replacement filter pack is $50, once a year. We aren't saying it's for everyone. If you find more value getting it from a vending machine rather than your own home than more power to you.
hi, when I leave my apartment is there someway to plug the hole that is drilled for the drill saddle or can I use the garbage disposal dishwasher drain port for the drain? also I plan on just leaving my cub boards open and just lay the air gap faucet flat on the counter. will that work? ghetto I know but I'm leaving here soon and want to just buy a GOOD water filter that's GARRUANTEED TO FILTER MICROPLASTICS
You could just replace the plumbing where you drilled the hole for the drain saddle when you leave. It's a pretty easy fix. Or like you mentioned place the drain line in any existing drain port. Just make sure the line is secure or you could end up with a mess. Yes, you could do that with the faucet. If you are just renting then I don't blame you.
@@uswatersystems my plan is to use a gasket and hose clamp to patch the small hole in the drain pipe when I leave. If that doesn't work I can patch with a bit of PVC pipe. I'm just a single guy who lives alone no kids so should be fine just running the faucet hose out the cub board doors and laying the faucet next to the sink
