Clearing leaves from your lawn can be a total weekend killer. BUT if you happen to own a ride on mower, you can DIY a drag behind leaf bag can make this dreaded task way less painful.
In this video I demonstrate the process of fabricating a leaf bag that is universal and can be attached to any ride on or zero turn tractor. I will show all the materials that you will need, the general construction process, and off course the money shot - clearing those pesky leaves.

NICE WORK! I suggest that you try some metal 1/2 inch conduit as a rigid exoskeleton that attaches to an internal lightweight internal brace [using a fiberglass tent pole] via small bungee cords. The metal conduit can adjust so that it balances the weight of the leaves in the bag. Also, larger bags can be used since it has a counterweight.

My dad took a. Old car and bolted on plywood sheets and made a box on the car and put a wire mesh door to alllow it to breath nd then took a flexible hose and hooked it on tot he chute and it only cost us maybe 100 dollars and tha was like in 2009 when he but it and we have only had to re build it maybe 2 times nice then.

Since I will unlikely ever own a lawn that requires a riding lawn mower (biggest so far was a 0.4 acre lot)… It’s “one fell swoope,” from Shakespeare’s (the Scottish play). Macduff on learning of the murder of his wife and children… “All my pretty ones? Did you say All? Oh Hell-Kite! All? What, All my pretty Chickens, and their Damme At one fell swoope?” Fell here meaning fierce or deadly.

Your invention is great...but I think too many people bag and throw leaves away. Now if you use those leaves in the garden or around shrubs and bushes, fine. Otherwise it's a wasted resource. I got mulching blades and a plug for my lawn tractor and mulch all those leaves right into the lawn for organic fertilizer.

Depends how big your yard is/how many trees you have. I have almost an acre, and it would be too much to store for compost, etc.

@@markb972 I haul leaves from the back yard to mulch in the front. It's surprising how much you can mulch with good mulching blades - free organic fertilizer that's often just thrown away.
