🎄Merry Christmas! I am still taking request. If you have any DIY that you would like to see me make, leave a comment down below to let me know. I will be picking a few request. 😊💜 ✨Tune in Tomorrow for Day 13 & more.
Plant nerd here. We have a wild rose plant in my state called the dog rose, Rosa Canina. Look it up and remember to only harvest 1/4 of the flowers on any plant.
How long did your hydrosol without the preservative last? What was the shelf life of the infused water as well? I am wondering if I can use these as a possible fragrance for cold process soap?
When I make handmade soaps I use color color stabilizer .... I have my own business creating hand made products as well... I’m always looking for new ideas but I also love giving pointers to other creators.. 💚 I hope this helps
This was so helpful. I was looking into making rosewater this summer and there was a lot of conflicting info about the process. This clarified everything when you explained the difference between the hydrosol and the infusion. Thank you for what you do!
Thank you for watching. I am happy to help. To the best of my knowledge this is how I distinguish between them. However, some viewers say it is only floral water lol. I will do more research. I know that hydrosols are the by-product of the essential oil distillation process, I just thought the water-steam distillation method could also be an alternative process as well. I hope this helps. 💜😊✨
I’m doing this right now (5 months late) and I’m so grateful for your tutorial. Thank you for the great info! I thought I was going to have to buy a still setup to make hydrosols so I’m super grateful for the great info! Thank you!
I cannot WAIT to try this. I'm wracking my brain though and I can't seem to think of anything I can use for the glass lid for the condensation to accumulate....if anyone has any ideas I'd be open to it. Thanks Yaya. Your content is perfection!
I made rose water. I used dried red roses. My daughter bought me a dozen red roses and when they started drying out I boiled it in purified water. Added aloe Vera gel, vegetable glycerin, and rose fragrance. The water did turn a dark rich brown with a hint of red.
I would love to see a DIY for some men's products like Beard balm or facial washes. I started making oils for my husband's struggling beard lol. But I'm looking for a better alternative for his skin as well
I've finally made my rose water/hydrosol!🎉🎉🎉 I did it 2 weeks ago but total disaster lol. I forgot to wipe the lid so my water was full of dust/fluff 😂🤦🏿♀️ (how did I not see before?) Using mainly dried petals from Amazon. The aroma was so strong I wasn't too keen as well as all the fluff at the bottom of the cup lol. But today all natural petals from the garden and clean lid, RESULT!!!!
Congratulations! How long did they last? Wanting to make rose water with first bouquet I received on my birthday from my guy as a way to make it last longer; hadnt heard of hydrosol until today, but if making rose water, might as well capture the hydrosol too and research it after!
@@HaloHighlightz sorry for the late response, I don't always get notification for some reason. The rose water lasts for months, I didn't add any preservatives just left it in the fridge every day but I did add a tiny bit of citric acid towards the end to see if it would last even longer than the time I have had it so far or if it was ruined since its much later that I'm adding it (changes the flavour a little bit lol) but please clean your bottle like mad before putting it in, it's drinkable as well. And was nice on my hair as well. Since she mentioned that bacteria can immediately start growing in the tea, I don't have any other preservatives and wasn't sure what I was gonna do with it yet so I froze it and decided to put a cube or 2 in my herbal tea which I drink every night (I've kinda slipped out of that routine but slowly getting into it again lol) and didn't ruin the flavour or my recipe
The zip lock bag is a great idea! I've seen videos with more and more ice being added but you've just made my day (I froze so much water lol) A little question, can we use dried petals as well?
Great video! You could also do this with herbs and flowers think mint (yum), chamomile, calendula, rosemary, etc. Which would make lovely hydrosols and teas! I've done the rose and lavender because I have a summer garden full of English roses and lavender. I want to try sweet peas and the blooms off my wisteria vine because they smell so gorgeous! Especially the wisteria vine! I also have a lot b of calendula growing out there lol! So the possibilities are endless I guess!
Thanks for the question. First preserve with Euxly 9010 for your infusion. The sooner you can put it in products the better. It is best to keep your Rosemary infusion in the fridge.. I have found mine lasts up to 9 months that wY. Most infusions last a year if properly preserved and kept in the fridge. Bare in mind you want to give the people who buy your products to have the freshest you can provide. So, I make mine on a constant rotating basis. I deal in a lot of products and mine moves quickly! Jill Gross
Thank you for your response just so happens thats the preservative that i use. How long is the shelf life of the tea specifically not the hydrosol if you have used preservative and dont intend to keep it in the fridge?
Yes, but most of us do not have the equipment or know how to make essential oil. This is just a quick, easy way to get plant material via an at home water-steam distillation process. 💜😊
@@YayaDIYCreations some hydrophilic essential oils will be in your rose hydrosol 😃 in google it states : Essential oil: the oil-soluble parts of the plant. Hydrosol: the water-soluble parts of the plant (this liquid also contains microscopic drops of essential oil)

I love making your recipes, and i'm sorry for the "frog" but, they're so good that you got the "attention" of THE GODDESS, ; - ) !!!
Great rose water diys. How long of shelf life on the rose infused water with preservative, if not in the refrigeration and it turns cloudy? Thanks for sharing.
I have also been running behind. Sorry for any delays as I am also working on orders and shipping during this time. Thank you for notifying me, I will check notifications again. Also thank you for watching 😊💜
Good job Sis I love the sound of your cute voice! 😄👏🏾👏🏾 I actually made rose 🌹 water 💦 where I just boiled the petals. Came out beautifully I put Lavender essential oil in mine as I thought it would preserve it for a bit longer. I put the main bottles in the fridge and a bottle in my bathroom at room temperature. To be honest it’s been fine I just check the smell to make sure it’s not gone rancid. Also I only use small bottles so I refill them regularly from my fridge. I use my Rosewater as a toner as it agrees with my skin. I like the way you did the distilled version I may try that one day. Thank you for sharing. How do you do those lovely labels 🏷 please? I would love to label my DIY creams and lotions. ☺️
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. This does give me more confidence that the rose hydrosol will last very well. I will keep notes and report back when I can. I think I want to formulate a toner with some other ingredients using the rose hydrosol as well. Here is the link for how I do these temporary labels just for DIYs. They are not oil or water proof, so I add tape to keep them safe. I wouldn't recommend for professional use, but they are perfect for at home diys. Heres is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x2TUiX3I2ns.html I hope this helps. I will do an up-to-date video on labels soon. 😊💜
Você é fantástica! Não precisarei mais comprar pronto meu hidrolato de Rosas, eu mesma farei. Obrigado por suas pesquisas tão informativas! 🥰 🥰 💖 💖 💗 💝
Thank you for this lovely video Yaya. I have a question, can you make hydrosol or infused water out of any flower, leaves or fruit? By following these methods?
In the future, maybe a new Turkey baster would help extract the rose hydrosol from the hot bowl faster? And maybe easier as well? I'm not trying to be rude I just thought it'd be a good idea? Maybe you can try it and tell us how well it works.
Hi Yaya! I love your videos. And, thank you for this one! Question: Is it possible I can add aloe vera and turmeric to the rose water to use it as a toner for my jaw area due to my hormonal acne? Thanks!
Aloe Vera and rose water do work well together. I've seen a lot of products with both. My hair stylist also uses it on my hair sometimes as a treatment
You can just buy rose water at your local Asian or Mideast grocer for two to four dollars. Two ingredients, water and rose petals. Bottled with a seal, storage advice is cool and dry, so it can last a very long time.
Does theses ingredients help keep the color? I made some rose water a couple days ago and the rose water has changed colors. I didn't use distilled water so that might have been the reason but I don't know.
Hi love I know you’ve done deep conditioners can you do a regular thinner consistency wash out conditioner, a leave in conditioner cream or liquid based, and a curl pudding pls
Rinse out conditioner is just deep conditioner but diluted.. and leave in conditioner is rinse out conditioner diluted further.. just add distilled water to ur deep conditioner
@@crazikai I understand that part but adding water to an already finished product specially diy will mess up the consistency I believe because the things used to bring it together
@@Cocoapuffgoddess I can definitely do this for you. The process of adding more water would be during the water phase. So, in the actual formula, you would use a higher percentage of water than oil phase. The problem with this is that it can sometimes cause the formulation to destabilize if you are not using the right emulsifier. You may also need solubilizers and other stabilizers to keep your formula from separating as you add other ingredients. I will do my best to get this out. 😊💜✨
No neither of those you mentioned are broad spectrum preservatives. She used Leucidal Liquid SF MAX in the video or you can try another broad spectrum.
