Calm down jars, sensory bottles, whatever you want to call them, they're easy to make at home and great to have around for soothing yourself or your kids!
Very short ant to the point video...thank you 😊 Making a few with my nieces (16 & 12) on thanksgiving...looks easy enough... Glitter glue...water...glitter...shake!
A couple years ago I was in my dorm putting off homework because I was stressed, and I watched this video on facebook and I was super entranced. Then I looked down to see what page posted it and it was an Autism Awareness page and it said something along the lines of, "to help calm your child when they are under stress or in sensory overload," and I'm Autistic and I got a weird feeling like I'd just fallen for a trap or something. XD
Yes! The more glitter glue you add, the slower the glitter falls and it adds a more swirl effect. I have a video that has step by step instructions for a glitter calm down bottle if that's helpful!
You can prevent mold by ensuring there is no air. Fill it up to the top. I’ve had mine for years and there is no mold. I’ve made them for others as gifts and they still look great!
so i'm searching thru the comments to kno if they actually work or not. so far i think it's good bt i'm worried ...will thw water become bad/unclear and pungent..?
You shouldn't be opening the bottles. In fact, the lids should be glued to the bottle specifically so they don't come open. You'll never smell it. I don't think the ingredients go bad anyway. As far as whether they work... do you mean for calming? If so, yes they do work. I have mini bottles that I keep in random places, like one at work, one in my purse, one in my car, so if I have an anxiety attack I'll have one nearby.
