Great video ty. I have a 4 1/2' x 10' long patch to do at my house. Am I better off taping the joints one day and coming back the next day and doing the textured part and blending it in? I'm a DIY at this and I'm not in a huge rush.
This texture matches the other walls in my house perfectly! I've removed wallpaper from a small bathroom and want to texture the walls. I used a Downey/water mix to soak the wallpaper so it would peel off. Do I need to clean or prep the walls before texturizing?
Would I possibly be able to do this over wallpaper? My whole kitchen is covered in wallpaper and I’d like to know if I can just prep the paper and then texture the wall.
Just FYI: This is in no way, shape, or form a "skip trowel." Skip trowel has a VERY SPECIFIC technique and finished look and none of that technique or finished look is present here. First of all, skip trowel technique involves a fast moving blade that actually "skips" or chatters across the surface. That is where the name comes from and the finished look has NO resemblance to this at ALL. Also, most actual skip trowel is NOT aggressive and is NOT forgiving of flaws in your underlying mud work. Look at your mud application you make at 4:21. Right in the middle, those skip lines: That is "skipping" and though not a GREAT example ....THAT is "skip trowel" and it is an extremely hard technique that takes LOTS of practice to do where it is consistent and the ONLY texture on the wall.
