I just made this and its so cute. It gave me an idea. Using a wine bottle for the body. I did the sock with coffee and then pulled the sock over the bottle. I tied off the sock where the bottle starts to taper. Fill the top of the sock with rice to form a head. Fixed the top of the rice at the neck of the bottle. Made the hat like yours and made sure it would fit over the neck of the bottle. Everything else the same as you. Worked great and it stand up rigid. Will probably make a couple more using different shaped bottles to make a snowman family. Thanks for the inspiration 💕
He is the cutest! I am a sucker for snowmen and scarecrows! He would fetch a good price in an antique store or flea market. But, this is just me, I would get a few twigs off my trees outside and give him some arms. Love him!!!😘,⛄
Love it! I especially like the unique techniques you use with painting the sock, the joint compound for snow, the painted stick for a nose, etc. Can't wait to make some.
Oh how Adorable is that snowman. I Love this diy and I can't wait to see more. Thank you for sharing this with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. ⛄️⛄️⛄️
❤️ it!…I think keeping the base without completely covered with snow it will retain more the “primitive” look…. Anyway, thanks Lisa, for sharing your project 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌹
@@ourshabbycottage8553 yes ma’am and thank you for being kind and respectful in replying… most RU-vidrs do not especially if you ask a question … and you know what it makes you feel bad…😁thanks again….have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious shabby chic cottage day‼️‼️‼️‼️from the BEAUTIFUL WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS 😁👍🏻‼️👏🏻👏🏻🙋🏼♀️❣️❣️
Good idea to use the Epsom salt. I made some with rice and had my car filed for a craft show. And I had a mouse get in my car as I had parked in the garage. What a mess!!!!
I love this snowman and have started to make one. What a great idea to paint the sock. Painting it has really helped to keep it's shape. Thank you for this video. I really want to make some of the journals that you and your sister made. What a lovely gift idea.🌻
I look forward to all your videos. I've collected snowmen for over 30 years and your snowman creation made me smile. You are extremely creative and give me so many ideas. Thank you...
He looks great! I love primitives. I would even add some coffee grunge mix to the paint, and make him even more prim. Thanks for sharing this idea! I love the recycling also.
I admire you're talent so much, as I always love your crafts! TFS Take Care & Have a blessed day!!! Yes ma'am more please...I prefer the coffee stain, and primitive look!!!
Omgeeee, Lisa! Out of the ballpark on this guy....love, love, love him. These would make an adorable "family" to display, wouldn't they? We are in the middle of moving, in a time crunch, or I'd be doing a lot of crafting but right now all I can do is watch and wish. Keep these coming!
Lisa your snowman is so cute! I'm so happy I found you! I love primitive. I'm a crafter over many years but my health has taken a toll on me. This snowman is so inspiring for me because I can make things like it with my hands. Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings your way. Darla Hokanson WA state
Another winning video! I’d forgotten about Primitive decor and I LOVE IT! So much beauty in its rawness. You’ve enticed my imagination to start creating in this fashion. Really, my brain can’t handle any more mixed media or it’s going to explode! But I can’t help that everything you do, I love. I remember a lot of plaid material on Primitive pieces as its signature too. I’d paint them ecru to stay with the “old” theme. I always feel artistically satisfied after your Ideas.
I love how the expression on his face tells such a story. I am so inspired by your video. I went to my local tree farm and got a bag full of Christmas tree stump ends to use as the base. I've been finding bits of branches to use as arms and I'm going to create a broomstick from scratch. The snow is the perfect added touch. I love to imagine it create it and I thank you for inspiring me to make your ideas of this cutest snowman. Happy Holidays and God bless.
Oh this snowman will have to be my Christmas Star this year. Thank You for sharing this!!!! I am going to make several. What would be a fair price to charge for a sock snowman???
I have use those bags of that tiny like P gravel. You can get like at Lowe’s and a lot of times. The bags that are busted are like only a dollar so you get a lot of bang for your buck lol also I do you use rice but I freeze it first that way if there’s any kind of insects in the rice that you don’t see it kills them and when I put the rice in the sock I first put it in like a plastic baggie then put it in the sock and I still can form it that way too
