When we added a downstairs bedroom on to our house, my husband did something similar to this to the attic built above the bedroom! I access it from the upstairs, just open a door and there’s my storage area! Originally it was to house all the school stuff I brought home each summer. When I retired from teaching 6 years ago, it became a catchall for both our stuff! We cleaned it out a year later and now one side is mine and one side is his. All my seasonal decorations are there, as well as a few other items. His side houses our ice chest, parts to a wood burning stove we have yet to install, as well as his junk! Jason did an awesome job! Kudos to you, Jason!

Love the room you have made for your storage bins. I need that so badly! I must have 30 in total after so many years of married life. I love to decorate so there you have it. Our garage is full of tools and hubbys items so no room for mine. I'm all but living around them all. I love the clear bins also, that is what I do so I can see thru them and not opening colored ones to remember whats in them. Jason and you have done a fantastic job on all of this. I may have to share it with my husband and make up a plan for my bins. LOL I am thinking a She'Storage Shed is what I need. It would be a dream come true. Omg! Fabulous. I loved seeing the transformation of your attic. I totally understand your need for labels. I keep everything in a storage unit about a mile from home. Christmas, fall, Halloween..etc. all labeled and organized but still have to drive to pick it up then drive the empty totes back. An attic would be awesome. Your space is amazing. You guys are an awesome team 🥰 The peg board with all of the wreaths and wall decor is my favorite! There are storage scanner systems you could look into for the bins - you snap a picture and put in a description for each item and then a scanner label is assigned to each bin, so you can “shop” for your items without digging through bins wondering where a particular item wound up. 😊

The door and the lighting were the biggest game changers. Well done! 😊

Way to go Jason! Even with your issues, still being able to do the math, planning, measuring, cutting (in between days with breaks I'm sure) and then to do the electrical, wow, you the man! My hubby can do all that but even with his early Vascular Dementia diagnoses, he is having issues with planning, organizing, and math. We need our subfloors all taken out and new put in, new flooring, and our MB needs a total remodel b4 toilet falls through the floor. I am having a hard time trusting him to do it all properly. You give me hope. Guess I will just let him take the plunge and be right there to help out.

This project looks great. Just a thought, I hang my wreaths up also but I take a tall kitchen trash liner, put the wreath inside, close it up but leave the opening hanging down, this helps keep the dust off of them.

I’m amazed!!! Question for Jason. With school, career, family, how did you learn construction? Not only learn, but mastered. I know my husband had a similar path in life, but he hated having to pay anyone to do what he felt he could do. All i would say is”maybe I can hire someone to redo my closet”. Before I reached for the phone, he’d have plans drawn” 🤣🤣🤣 You both inspire people. ☺️

We have an attic like yours (access through a closet, although it does have a door to it already). I have been thinking of finishing it off for years and watching you two finish yours, gives me a push to do it. I absolutely love your attic storage. Looks like you can fit lots of stuff there. I wish had that type of attic.

It gives me so much joy, just to see any area organized, easy to access and even easier to find that ONE item you need NOW. However being a glass half-empty person, I noticed the "greenery" was not covered. Any chance of the cellulose or fiberglass insulation "snowing" on the wreaths? Can a (clear) lucite cover be fabricated to go over the vent return? Then you can decorate over it. I have zero construction experience so perhaps that vent return needs to be exposed and uncovered. ♥️BTW nice to see The Big Guy providing so much support!

I would love to do my attic. I used to store my Christmas decor in my attic but we are both too old to go up and down the attic ladder, which is the only way to get into our attic. I wish we could do this. We built a shed outdoors but it isn't as easy because we have to carry things from the other side of the yard. Nice job.

Wow, my dream attic. My attic is floored but I live in a coal mining area and my attic gets so dirty. Everything that goes up there has to be sealed or it will be black when it comes back down. I don't know why it does that. We only have to wash down the outside of the house twice a year. Is that a lot? I didn't think so. But it's like my attic says "Come black dust lay up here!" I know this is an older video. I can’t manage to watch anything else right now. I’ve just lost my 4th baby in the past year. I had made it to almost 13 weeks. I thought this one was gonna make it! So heartbroken and feels like I’m in a nightmare, I want so badly to escape reality right now. My YT feed is full of pregnancy and labor videos and it honestly makes me feel sick. The only channel I can watch is yours. You just bring me peace. You don’t even know what you’re doing for me right now. It probably sounds so stupid and weird.
