Its the Attention to Detail that I appreciate so much. Not just my OCD but it goes back to when I trained as a Jig & Toolmaker in the '60s. The fitters I worked with were ex GWR and so you never said 'that is near enough'! It was either right or wrong. Even the wall was plastered to the millimetre! 👏

I sprayed mine with WD-40 4 times over a few weeks before replacing. You have to spray inside where the bushing is as well. Made it much easier. Also +1 to the air hammer idea. Love your videos. Makes my Sunday great every week

Hi, I have a LR4 2016 EU6 like this car in the video and changed the front lower arms last year. I have put on the aftermarket MEYLE with reinforced bushings. They offer them with full rubber bushings instead of the fluid filled OEM-ones. As for the marketing, they are more "heavy duty" and are a better match for the weight of the car. Installation worked without problems and after 20Tkm there are no problems. Great video as always.

Land Rovers especially early one’s are a way of life and relatively modern ones as you demonstrate so well. They say in Australia if you want to see the outback get a Land Rover, but if you want to come back get a Toyota. 😁

The heal bar spike your using to push bolts through is a handy tool essential really. We've always called it the Podger but I've no idea why 😊😂

Another great video, I used to work at the Toyota factory in the UK, we used to train our assembly guys to double click the torque wrenches. so unknown to you Christian....you've been doing it the Toyota way forever.

I was watching your old video where you swapped from 5w30 to 5w40 in your discovery 4, have you seen a long term benefit from this as I feel a higher viscosity oil is better for these engines and I think I may convert also. The difference in chamber between the sides is a common trick to try and stop the vehicle steering towards the kerb due to the road crown… its swops depending on if you are left or right hand drive 👍

love the videos and i am no desktop mechanic but a Karosseriebauer :) and i have an old defender two p38 range rovers and and many disco 1 and 2 series. so once you cut out all the rubber have you ever tried welding a thick bead of weld on the inner sleeve or round it on the inside of course as when they cool off the stuck sleeve should be really easy to remove. i do this quite regularly if i have a stuck bearing and no i have no press like you at home. keep it up. ihr habt eines der besten youtube chanels danke dafuer es ist immer eine freude zuzuschauen

When you can't fit the suspension arm into a press, the rubber bushes can be pulled out with a hollow centre hydraulic ram (or cylinder) using a threaded rod through the centre. Those pieces you turned on the lathe will be used with the hollow ram. Easier than trying to cut the bushes out.

Hi guys from OZ. Great content punctuated with humour...good stuff. Interestingly I did this very job using aftermarket control arms and was easy. Marked and measured everything to replace as close as possible then drove 120km to my son's workshop where he did complete alignment on new computerised 4WD alignment station and had plenty of adjustment to work with. Job is 12 months old now and ride and tyre wear are spot on. Kept the old arms and removed the old bushes and will replace with new ones and reuse them next time.

To remove centre part of bushings I use a welder to heat the centre part enough they burn their way out. It's smoky and smelly but easier than drilling and cutting. Removing the outer part is still a pain. Thanks for another great entertaining video.

Wow 300 newtons for front air strut base to control arm, that is so much torque. 330Nm is highest i seen on MB w212 and w204 rear wheel bearing size 32 locknut. Great video as always❤. Good thing in my country a 4 wheel Hunter top of the line 4 cameras system wheel alignment service only cost Euro 20😂. I check my alignment and wheel balance per 5,000km to trend the suspension wear & tear.

I did a front ball joint Friday, your method would have saved me an hour at least 😂 luckily I don’t pay myself.

I remember setting up the tracking on my friends 356 using the pole and fishing line method. BTCC cars (British DTM ish) have or had two aligned holes near the front bumper so you don't need the axle stands to do the set up after a crash etc. you just fit the pole to the car.

For those like me without a press replacment arms are the only option. You can fit range rover sport arms to the D3/D4 as an upgrade due to stiffer bushings. Iv a D3 and sport and have had todo the lower arms on both luckily for me no seized bolts. Marking the original alignment worked for me to get it all back in the same place. Well done again meyle are the way Togo.

I need to redo the suspension rear arms in my L322, so watching your video, beyond the tools I have, I need: Vera, a lift, 20 ton press and a young strong and smart roofer. Hmm,,,,,
