Here’s a video about the platform bed that I built for my 2020 Ford Explorer, but this could work for any suv! Hope this gives you guys some ideas.
Materials used
4x8 plywood sheet 3/4inch thick $54
2packs of door hinges 3in each pack $7.98 each
Indoor/outdoor area rug -$29.98
Spray adhesive-super 77 I used 2 $13.28 each
So just over $125 to make this bed

❤ the design and simplicity! BUT I'm trying to figure out how the plywood panels were attached. I'm assuming, 1 panel is screwed to the center 2x4 and the outermost 2x4.The second panel is screwed to the other outermost 2x4, and not attached to the center 2x4. Then both panels are attached by the door hinges.

I wish I could send a pic on here but the two panels are held together by the door hinges and only the bottom two hinges go through the middle 2x4 for some support through the middle. That middle 2x4 is cut like a long right angle triangle if that makes sense.

How thick is your bed topper?

I believe it’s a 3inch. It does the job but I do want something a little nicer in the future.
