How to turn a 36 or 42 inch filing cabinet into 2 SUV storage vaults for under $450. This video shows how easy it is to make your own secure vehicle storage locker out of a $99 used filing cabinet. I will add the photos later of what it looked like before but I'm sure most will get the idea. I'm no expert at building these at all, I just didn't want to spend $1400.00 times two to accomplish my goal and that was simply to protect my stuff from knuckle heads! Truck and SUV storage vaults depending on the brand can run as high as $1400.00 so, if your like me and like challenges, you'll come up with your own idea so, that's what I did here.

Brilliant. I've been looking for a metal storage setup for my tahoe. I'm looking for a cabinet now. I'd use a roll on or spray on bed liner for the exterior to dampen rattles and maybe a different lock setup for mine but your setup has given me a bunch of ideas. With the height it would allow me.to put my pelican 1750 cases sideways and store all my other items in the cabinet. Well done sir

I love the idea you get two of them for the price basically the price of one a little bit of modification I would’ve never thought about using filing cabinets

Nice box sir . I wish I could have took the gang box that was give to me in Texas but had no way to get it back to South Ga. I did find a nice trunk organizer bon Amazon tho for about 30 dollars. Works good in my Jeep. Be safe friend love what your doing.
