DIY, Test, Can we Revive/Recover a empty a 12V 2,5 Ah Bosch Battery? 

This trick really works. I have the exact 2 batteries and one was totally dead. it was sitting in my closet for months and finally discharged to a point I couldn't charge it up. So i jumped the dead battery with the good one. Instantly the dead battery got really hot. I only kept it connected to 1.5 minute. I didn't think it was a good idea to jump it for 5 minutes. the battery might explode due to high temperature. So after a minute and 30 seconds, I disconnected the jumper cables and left the battery to cool down for 10 minutes. then I put it on the charger and it started to charge. Took like an hour to fully charge up and now it works like a normal battery. thanks for sharing the trick. Update: The battery got charged and worked in the driil. Then afterwards, went dead again and would not charge. So i did the same trick again. In about 30 seconds the battery got really hot. So i took it off the jumpers. Then it charged normally on the charger. But then afterwards, the charger says , it's completely charged but the battery never worked again. And now it's dead again. So i guess the cells are bad or power management circuit completely stopped the battery. So i think there is an internal short in one of the battery or batteries and now it will not charge again.

Thank you, thank you. I was sceptical but wow. it worked! Saved 2 Bosch 12V 1.5 Ah batteries which were completely dead from a cold spell in the garage. The Charging light on the charger was continuously on but no charging took place. I connected to an old "10.8 V" Bosch battery for 5 minutes which gave them a bit of life, then the charger started flashing. Happy Days!

Superb!! Worked. Super Thanks !! kept it connected just for few seconds wire got hot so removed. After removal dont connect charger - let temperature come down and then charge. IT works!!

Great remedy now fixed! After adding another Bosch 12v power tool how disappointing to try out new tool only to find 12v 6.0ah battery completely lifeless I used a 10.8v battery as donor to link up waited 10 minutes 12v 6.0ah back in charger and it started charging thank you sir 💯👈🏻🇬🇧

Thank you. I wished I had seen your video just a day sooner. I purchased a 12v max battery to replace the original which is only 3 months old. Bosch sells their tool with 2 batteries. I was charging one and left it in the charger for days. When I needed the battery, it was dead. So I purchased an additional one and got it yesterday. I was about to toss the dead one but before tossing, I wanted to see what was inside. That is when I came across your video. I got the supposedly dead battery to work simply by using your direct charge method. I let it sit connected to together for five minutes. I put my meter on the ‘dead’ battery and it read 12.2v. The fully charged battery read out at 12.4. I have two batteries for my dewalt. Same thing was happening. One battery went dead, the other works. I jump the two and now I have two working Dewalt 18v batteries. Thank you for posting.

I had a brand new one that is dead on arrival. I measured the voltage is mere less than 2V. Cannot charge and cannot use. I used yr method and within a min, the “dead” battery is alive and present 10.2V ! Vola now is able to charge and use normally. Thanks for your video

Worked like a charm, only needed 3 mins. Enough to charge within range so charger will accept it, but not too long so it gets hot and the charger thinks it’s too hot to charge like your did the first time.

I had a battery that wouldn’t charge or power a drill so I have just tried this. I connected them up and left them outside, 5 minutes later I returned and disconnected them. Neither battery was warm so I didn’t think it had worked but I put it on the charger and it is now charging up. Thanks for the tip.

My charged battery jumped after one minute to 40 degrees C on the case. I umpluged it and when I put the empty battery in the charger it started to charge. The empty one had 1.2v when dead. I did not measured it after the one minute charge time. Both batteryes charge now. Thank You!

The solid red led said that the battery was too hot both times you tried. You have all 'signals' on the charger.

I too thought this was a bit odd - waiting for a tear-down and replacement of either battery cells or a small electrical component. Did the same exact steps, and Voila! I've revived 2 dead 2AH batteries in this way. I'm stunned. Thank you so very much. FOOTNOTE: WTH is wrong with these things? Bosch needs to take responsibility , as the lithium ion batteries are a serious problem. This just saved me money, but more importantly, kept another handful of these "dangerous" battery components out of the disposal bin. Seriously- why is this not printed in the Bosch manual as an act of simple responsibility for their products? Now the big question: what to do with an 18V CORE battery in the same dead condition?

Needless to say, do not try this at home! Shorting two lithium batteries with no current limit and no voltage/current control is a blunt stunt that once will create a fire
