Maybe you should start a new series trying these trendy asian foods that people usually use for asmr. Ex: soy sauce marinated crab, cheese corn dogs, enoki mushrooms in that red sauce. Yes it’s fun watching people eat it but people don’t go into detail like you do.
I'd love to try this out, but I avoid jelly like textures, so maybe I'd try it with a candy coating. Reminds me of making marzipan fruits. I love love love doing that.
Hi Emmy!! I was in Denver not too long ago and I went to a restaurant that I used to go to all the time when I was a kid. My parents would always get this certain martini that was garnished with this thing called a “Buzz Button” or “Szechuan Button”. They are pretty much these little edible dandelion-like flowers that when eaten, give your mouth this fantastic buzzing and cooling feeling, and it heightens your senses!! I think the drink was infused with the buzz button as well. Maybe you can make a buzz button drink or just try the buzz button alone for one of your episodes!! It’s such an interesting food experience I think you would really enjoy it.
Emmy, this might get buried in the comments but I just wanted to say I genuinely think you have the most interesting and diverse channel! I’m never bored and I’m always learning about something here.
Great work. I live in Bangkok and I pass by the lady selling these every evening but have never tried them but this week I'm gonna grab some and give them a try.
@@jennifermurray4387 I most certainly will...maybe I will grab some tonite. If permitted I will also post link to my Instagram post so you can see the vendor and my selection.
I used to eat this all the time as a kid! I never found out the proper Indonesian name for it but I loved loved it. People would serve it on wedding or house parties. Thank you for making this recipe!
I completely forgot about these! My mom discovered them at some point during my childhood and for months she'd regularly buy them because I LOVED them. I can't quite remember if the person/people who made them were Thai or Vietnamese (my parents are Viet but I grew up/live in Canada so I do believe she got them at an Asian grocery store) but they were so pretty and yummy! Sadly I don't think I've seen them around in years though (as evidenced by the fact that I forgot about them lol). I think we might've tried making them once or twice and one of my aunt's might've done so too but it was kinda time consuming so we obviously stopped. I could be remembering wrong but I think even the stems/leaves were made out of mung beans.
Anyone else fall asleep to Emmy’s videos? Idk but like when I have trouble sleeping and when I’m going through my terrible panic attacks, I put her videos on auto play. And it helps me calm down/fall asleep. Her voice is so soothing and calm. I love it!
emmymadeinjapan they are so adorable!!! I so want to try them! Also I was excited that you used your instant pot! I immediately thought of doing that, and then you mentioned it!
How interesting...my parents are from Europe and we have sweets the marzipan shaped like fruit...yummy! I will follow your recipe and see another cultures take on the European treat, I am sure it is tasty!! Can you do a marzipan fruit ...your so artistic!
@@choosnau Where did you find the info that they are from Portugal? I couldn't find anything about the origin of the marzipan fruit, and there are even several different stories going around about where marzipan in general was invented.
@@leenaliee Another German-European here and we definitely have marzipan shaped like fruits (just google "Marzipanfrüchte") and vegetables (most famous are probably the "Marzipankartoffeln", but there are tomatoes and others as well) and animals and all kinds of stuff - some more and some less weird. ;)
This is awesome! It would be really cool to see you make the Thai Fried Lotus sesame cookies too! I grew up having those around Cambodian/Thai/Laos New Years!
Ahhhh!!!! These are my absolute favorite dessert! I'm Indonesian and miss so many treats and foods from home!!! Emmy you are incredible! You never cease to amaze me and hit me with a massive dose of nostalgia! Thank you so much! Xox
Sweet video. Would you do these again? Perhaps using multiple colors on a single "fruit" and dipping in sugar crystals after final agar agar dip? Like a crystalized peach
Vintage/Indie AL // Oh, it it would be, "Nó tên là gì" 😊 It is called bánh đậu xanh. The direct translation is mung bean cake. Though if you search bánh đậu xanh on google, you will not see many images of this treat because there are many types of mung bean cake. Different types of mung bean cakes will appear (more popularly eaten kind), but if you scroll, I reckon you would find some images of this beautiful dessert. Good luck learning!
I'm so late but somehow I just saw the upload. This reminds me so much of childhood. It never was my favorite, I ate it for the novelty of small "candy" fruits rather than the taste, but my grandma used to make them often. My cousins and I would always help out. Good times.
“Oh look that one squirted our like a zit!” And your little karaoke at the end!! Oh my you lighten my spirits! Thanks! ❤️ And I love almond paste, and coconut so I think I’m going to have to try making these! Sooo much fun!!!
Omg Emmy I'm from India and the Mung Bean "paste" that you prepared is actually consumed by itself here. It is a delicacy which is usually prepared in the winter months since it is high in calories and warms your body up. I don't think the recipe is exactly the same but we call it "Mung dal halwa". So cool how Asian food is so diverse and yet there are all these ties connecting them together :")
Here in Mexico (mostly in Guanajuato, where I live) we have similar candies named "Alfeñiques" Made from powdered sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and egg whites (sometimes also lime juice), you should try them too, they are popular around Dia de muertos, these ones you made reminded me a lot of Alfeñiques 😁
Kah nom luk choop kah - is like 'Ah' a monster - but with a K in front. nom - is like saying No but then add the M sound after luk - is like 'Luke' I am your father and Choop - is like fruit loop but with a CH instead of the L
Just started watching this channel last week... I'm already a seasoned veteran of your videos now haha. It's gotten to the point that all youtube recommends are more of emmy's videos x3 Also my 1 yearold nephew loves this channel too
Thank you so much for this video! I literally was looking for Luk Chup from local Thai restaurants about a week or so ago and could not find it! I’ve never tried it, but was intrigued and interested after watching multiple ASMR videos where this dessert was consumed. Thank you Emmy!
It's pronounced as 'look choop' :) I really love these lil treats. It's so great to see you try making them! By the way, I've loved your vids for years. They so special.
Emmy is so beautiful! I love, love, LOVE watching her videos. She has an authentic way of explaining food experiences. She explains everything clear and well. I enjoy every minute of all her videos. I'm such a fan of what she brings to the table. I love your style, Emmy! 😍
recipe for you to try: my dad's famous meatloaf burgers 1 pound ground hamburger add one egg add one stack of ritz crackers add one onion (fine chopped) add one packet ranch dressing mix mix all well grill and serve on wheat bread. enjoy!
Celebration...💃 Wow thanks for showing us! I saw these on youtube and found them to be so intriguing! I was wondering how they made such small treats so prettily colored, but it’s a lot simpler than I thought!
Omg !! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE that you made these 🙏😁..The first time I ever saw these was on SAS CHANNEL & they always look so delicious 🤤..I’m gonna have to try this recipe. Thank again 🥰😘❤️
Hello Emmy, I think the ones that are made with the marzipan are called PETITE FORES,,,, Not sure if I spelt it right,,,,, I used to make them with mazipan,,,,, must try, this one ,,,,they look beautiful they way you made them,,,,!!!,Have you tried,,,, WHEAT GRASS IT REQUIRES A TASTE!!!! comes in a power or fresh form,,,, but need quite a lot to make a shot glass full of the fresh wheat grass,,,,, there is also powederd SPIRALINA SEAWEED ,,, and BARLY GRASS In powered form tryed the three of them ,,,,there all packed with vitamins and minerals, that are so good for the body, getting rid of impurities from the body,,,,it's not everyone's CUP OF TEA,, and takes a little getting used too,,,, I started of first with just a half a teaspoon,,then once you get used to it ,,, as it can make you a little nausea,, start of small first,,,you can increase it to one or two or more!!! ,,Once your used to it,, It's normally taken on its own or with fruit juice,,,, I've tried it both ways, but is better in milk for first time users!!! PLEASE let me know Emmy if you would be willing to try on your video,😘💐🌷🌹🐈,,, this may seem a bit weird to you,, but I've mixed a very small amount in water and used it as a food for my plants cacti mainly,, and I have seen the difference it makes,, they seem stronger ,and a bit bigger than before it was given in feeding them, they seem to love it too!!!!!I think it's ok to for animals,,but it's better to research that,, take care Emmy, hope you will try it?!!👍🌺🌹🐈🌷💐🏵
Mind Mindblown 🤯🤯🤯. I loved these as a child in Vietnam. The street man sells it daily, and my siblings and I were obsessed. I never knew they were Thai origin. 😱 Thanks for showing us how to make these. It's been over 20 years since I last ate them, and they don't have it here in my state. I shall make this one day. I'm so backwards. I think the hardest part is soaking and grinding the mung bean. The rest are easy steps. 🤣😂 I make a lot of French pastries, so the fun is in the actual labor. The waiting part are the longest and most difficult.
Hi Emmy!! So I know you made this video four months ago, but I have a few problems and questions with making luk chup. I keep getting a really soft dough that won’t hold on the tooth pick, I’m also getting a very nutty not good taste. If anyone could help me figure out why this is please leave me a comment! ☺️
Emmy. Do you think this would roll out to be a flower petal or tree leaf ?? They look soo good. Ive seen them on ASMR bid. But mot seen them made. Thank and love the show. 👍👏✌️
All comment came from emmy's mouth are complimentary. I never heard bad downgrading comment from her. She is a very nice person and fun to watch aswell. Love from malaysia ❤️
We bought some of these at a Thai night Market a few years back. So very cute, but I could not stomach them. Between the texture and the bland beany flavor it just did not appeal.
