Awesome technique, thanks for sharing! I really like your home made sanding flapper tool that was used in this videl. Any chance you made a video on how it's fabricated?

Hello Richard~ The sanding mob production process video you requested has been completed. I would like you to watch the video below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YWTrktri3KY.html

@Richard-dh8ny 2 года назад
Thank you VERY much! The video is very detailed and easy to follow. :) One question and one suggestion.... Can you please tell me the diameter and length of the bolt used for the mob? It seems that the mop will wear out just on the perimeter of the sand paper. I suggest coming up with a way to "trim" the sand paper 5-10mm as the sand paper wears out. This way the mob can continue to be used until the diameter get close to the washer. Just a thought.
@enjoyingwoodworking691
@enjoyingwoodworking691 2 года назад
@@Richard-dh8ny The bolts used to make the mob are 150cm long and 1cm thick. And the big washer diameter is 5cm. That's a good suggestion. If you use it several times, the mob becomes like a perm head, which makes it more usable.

Thank you so much for asking the question. The size of the Lennox Hole Saw used to make the knob is 2" (50mm, the inside size is 46mm). The thing to remember is that the inside size is 46mm. And, the number of used forstner bits is two. One is 25mm for the insert nut side, and 15mm for the bit used for the outer hole. There is one thing missing from your question. The drill bit size used on the insert nut side is 10mm. The drilling depth should be limited to the length of insert nut insertion. I hope my answer is helpful to you.

I'm not sure that people should put their fingers quite so close to the router bit as shown here.

You are right. I'll put a warning subtitle at that working location. Thanks for your advice.

Nice concept, but that's a good way to lose a finger on a router table.

Thanks for your advice. Safety is always the best. I admit there is a problem with using my router. From now on, I'll use the router in a safe way.

How did you determine the distance between circles (small) since they were 60 degrees apart?
@enjoyingwoodworking691
@enjoyingwoodworking691 Год назад
You just need to decide on a distance equal to the size of the knob you want. Of course you should be able to cut it out with your hole saw. Thank you :)

@@enjoyingwoodworking691 Hammers are hardened metal, striking one against the other is dangerous, hardened metal can fracture and in some cases cause injury through metal fragments flying around the workshop (rare but it can happen), would be better to use a hard wooden dowel, or a large diameter punch, or even use a vice to force the metal item into the wood, lots of ways to do it but not the way you did.
