Just a quick rundown of the trailer wires/light testing box i built for our shop. We've been having a lot of trailers coming in for maintenance and repairs and this allows us to easily test all the functions of the trailer wires, test the tail/clearance lights, brake lights, turn signals, reverse lamps, electric brakes, and 12 volt constant/charging signal with a 7 pin plug. Usimg an adapter allows you to also test 6 pin round connectors along with 4 pin flat and 5 pin flat.

I make these boxes. I like how you set yours up to conceal the switches. Might try to incorporate that into the next box I build.

Aaron, thats exacly what I want to do. These new "smart cars" have all kind of life helpers such , some computers for protection systems etc. so my light comes ON and then goes OFF , driving without ligths. Genius! must build box like yours.

Great idea. Now you just need a wiring extension cord so you don’t have to run back and forth between the front and back of the trailer.

Could this run off a drill battery

Absolutely, most 12v automotive light will handle up to 20v, with an adapter inline for power to where you can slip on a drill battery it will work. This was just made up crudely to be powered by anything that will clamp onto it for our shop so jump starter, and and jumper cables to a battery etc.

It is great that you have made this video and the device is very useful..but it is pointless for the viewer. How bout including a schematic or how to section. People come to RU-vid to learn how to do and build things.. Include links to products and allow viewers to build their own version.
